Yeah - but I doubt they’d be anywhere near that for any test. A case in point is the crowd today... there could be 60k watching. I think they are allowing 50% capacity. The place though is near enough empty. It looks like well under 10k. That’s pretty disappointing. I agree but I wouldn't underestimate the Covid impact. Just because you can have that capacity doesn't mean you have to. He's still a club player though, and the thought of him being anywhere near the touring squad to Aus isn't even worth thinking of. India will never get anywhere near 100k for a test match, a 50 over or T20 match they’ll fill it to the rafters......

Think this one might be slipping away, anything over 100 lead and the fragility of our batting versus their spinners doesn't bode well. Someone remind me, if India win the series 3-1, they reach the final. 2-2 and it's Australia? Is that right? Correct

Let me rephrase it - he was lucky there wasn't even 30k in there today, and he is still a club player.

Depressing first hour. The two seamers are already over bowled and knackered and the spinners not getting much joy. As for Bess he’s fine completely. Back to bed for me.....

That ended quickly... but not quickly enough... for England. Too quickly though for Washington Sundar who was left stranded 4 short of a maiden test century. Shame for him.
So we start our second innings 160 behind.
A few questions... will the game go into a fourth day, will we make India bat again, will we post enough runs to give India something challenging to chase.
The good news from that innings is Stokes demonstrating he is still a bona fide all rounder. Not just a batsman who can turn his arm over.

Dom Bess wouldn't look out of place in a Caverswall 2nd XI. Too late, messaged him, hes playing for Wood Lane 2s.

There should be a new law introduced where we just start our innings at 25/3.

It’s staggering how many wickets Axar Patel has taken this series. He’s clearly a decent bowler but he’s not a huge turner of the ball and doesn’t have any tricks or mystery.
He’s just your bog standard slow left arm bowler and we just haven’t had a clue how to play him.

Wonder if we'll blame the pitch again 😂 In fairness the players didn’t, but they’ve looked mentally shot this test pretty much from ball one.....

I’m so pleased I stopped watching the series after the first test. The thought of watching Kohli running all over the place and Pants constant chirping would be too painful too watch (as a man I can’t stand Kohli). Let’s get them over here and see how well they do. That said really poor from England almost takes us back to the 90s the way we’ve rolled over these last 3 tests. Clearly a lot of work to be done on technique.

To be fair, it's only right that India will now contest the final, and especially in light of them preventing Australia from doing so having won back to back away series in Oz.
They've been an excellent side for some time. It will be interesting to see how they cope in England on a pitch and in conditions which probably won't be quite so favourable.
Should be a good contest.

The dreaded opener/number 3 debate will start again after this series, we can’t keep being 3 wickets down after just a handful of overs it’s killing us. Since Cook/Strauss there has been 22 players who have opened, and the number three position is fast become cursed.....

Should be a good contest. If the ball is moving they’ll be completely blown away by New Zealand, as they will in the test series against us. The ICC will almost certainly make sure it’s a flat deck at Lords though to make it an even contest.
