It certainly is, are you ok? Thanks asking. I have had a massive dip in it over the past few days but woke up today with a bit more optimism. I really appreciate you askin That’s it mate, another day another outlook. What was the problem specifically? You don’t have to tell us of course but you might get some invaluable advice from us idiots, you never know

The bugars let us out and we get nothing. Typical.

That is the thing that is scary about it was nothing at all that triggered it. it just start kicking in Sunday of last week and by the Tuesday, I honestly did not know what I was going to do with myself, I got that low Yep I get plenty of those days myself, can just be little things under the surface you don’t feel are worth talking about but eventually you overthink and get stuck in a rut of doom. I know exactly what you mean. Then one day you wake up and think “why was I so worried about that?”. Keep going mate and just put the bad days down to the fact you’ve probably just got out of the wrong side of bed a bit too often! I always think of stuff going on in the world that’s out of my control and I wouldn’t say it makes me feel better but it makes it appreciate what you’ve got and that with a little tweak here and there you will feel so much better. Good luck over the next few weeks and if you’re feeling low don’t be afraid to talk to someone or even post on here for a pick me up or occasional advice. We’re a pretty good lot really👍🏻

After two postponements I’m going in for my vascular op on Wednesday. Will be in a high dependency unit after for about a week and transported to a diff hospital ( closer to home ). At one point I was told I had an aortic aneurysm but that does not appear to be the case thankfully. . Not long to go. Decided to have a beer free night but circumstances dictated otherwise. I’ll be clear tomorrow as long as work behaves. They know I’m off but ffs. Hey ho. I’ll make the most of having a wee without a tube in me japs today. 🤨

Would anyone who's thinking of cutting back on the drink be interested in setting up a PM on here with the aim of helping each other have a steady April?

Would anyone who's thinking of cutting back on the drink be interested in setting up a PM on here with the aim of helping each other have a steady April? I think people could post in here but if people want to keep it private fair enough. I luckily have never suffered with not being able to drink. I think its mainly because i don't like the hangovers or i have witnessed rows with family members because of too much drinking. Do people find it hard not to have one? If you can stop just like that then i wouldnt say they have a problem. Where as if people drink morning noon and night. Cant go a day without one then its an issue.

I am sorry if this is wrong thread - I am really struggling with my wife's alcohol problems and have no idea what to do. She wants to keep it to herself/try to sort on her own, shes not mentioned it to anyone at work *scared she'll get sacked as she is a nurse* She has suffered with depression throughout her life and lost her mum and best friend within 5mths of each other and she's got worse (there have been overlying issues with her previous husband controlling her and basically being an all-round shithouse). She has been to doctors for anti-depressants as she stopped using them over 2mths ago, but I found out last night that shes not even been taking the new anti-depressants as they are not to be taken with alcohol (she never mentioned her drinking to the GP). I am at my wits end, I have taken her to AA meeting about a year ago and she hated it, I have tried to get her to go to CDAS with no joy. I feel like contacting her work to try to get her help but shes terrified that they will just sack her. I dont know what to do Just had the annual council tax bill through today, one of the leaflets had reference to this in it: www.scdas.org.uk/Not sure if you're in Stoke or already aware of it but I thought it worth sticking on here for you or anyone else who could be interested.

Good job he’s not going to Crewe, 6 pairs of hands equals 36 fingers in those parts. Could be an advantage I suppose Just caught up with this. I’ve never spent a night in hospital before never mind a week. I’m fine with all of it apart from the catheter. And I’m being spliced open leff right and centre. Catheter though - crossing legs now and with my condition it’s difficul and painful just thinking about it. Cue you swines Good luck and hope it’s all going well

A week later I should be going home. Six days of morphine and codeine left me constipated so an enema this morning ( I can’t believe people pay for those for pleasure ) and catheter removal - fill another 500 ml jug and off I go with two massive scars, stomach full of plastic and a bag full of drugs. Off work for six weeks, no carrying lifting etc. v sore to say the least but the issues seem to have been addressed. Thanks everyone. Now, where’s my Scythe….? 💀

Feels like I’ve had my groin ripped in two and a hot poker inserted in the hole.* * The above is all true apart from it was caused by forgetting strict instructions and picking up the dog. For a short time.
