And yet since the day he signed here we've slipped down the league. Strange that. Oh dear 🤦 It is yeah. He's been at the heart of our demise on the pitch.

Joe Allen has probably played under at least 10 if not more managers including international so far in his career. It’s funny how all of those professional football managers who earn a living at a much higher level than anyone on this message board have him as first on their team sheets. That’s including Liverpool until they pushed on to what they’ve since become. But a handful of wannabe football managers with obviously not the foggiest on how to structure a football team have him as “useless” “ a headless chicken” and many more totally misinformed names for him. Laughable. But that’s why we love the oatcake. And yet since the day he signed here we've slipped down the league. Strange that. So he's responsible for the poor transfer policy, sticking with a manager for too long and subsequent poor manager choices? What absolute arse gravy.

Can you see the pattern emerging Left Liverpool and they improved Joined Stoke and they a)get relegated b)struggle and end up in another relegation battle Injured for 6+months and Stoke are threatening top 6 Left Swansea and they declined? Yep, in the same manner we declined after Pulis left. 5 seasons later

I think a lot of the pitches on the pitch stem from how he plays yes. And his signing was part of that bad transfer policy and we got rid of better players to accommodate him. Euro 2016 has a lot to answer for.

Yeah, cuz every time a football club goes into decline it's always the fault of one player. Stoke City's demise over the final few years of our premier league life and subsequent time in this division run a lot deeper than Joe Allen, and to blame it on any single player is really fucking strange, but for some reason we have a few on here who love to keep banging this drum. I look forward to the day Allen is fit again, because a fit Joe Allen improves our first eleven and will give us a big boost in our attempt at a top 6 place.

Of coruse it does but on the pitch I think he's up there and his signing was one of the worst we've made in terms what it did to other areas of the team and fitting him in. We also changed the formation based on signing him. It was a catastrophic signing and one of Hughes' biggest mistakes.

I've never seen so many players having free reign to run at the centre halves than when we've had Joe Allen in the side. We needed a DM and we signed him for that and he ended up playing behind the striker because he couldn't be trusted and then back again. An awful signing, a waste of money and we never needed him.

Left Swansea and they declined? Yep, in the same manner we declined after Pulis left. 5 seasons later Now we’re on the same page of stating irrelevances! I’m sure signing (pick at least 3 from our last 4 years of business) has contributed more to our downfall than Allen, for Liverpool, again pick any player from their last 4 years of transfer business which has improved their team. He’s no world beater, and I’d prefer Wijnaldum over Allen, but I’d prefer Allen over Woods, Ndiaye, Etebo, Imbula, Cousins, TOB etc..

I can read them now "He's never been the same since his injury" forgetting completely he was a massive, massive part in our decline. I could honestly live with Joe Allen if:- He could control a football Pass a ball Have a disciplined approach to midfield positioning. The lack of general footballing skills he has just magnifies what a poor signing he was. We never needed him at the time He was shoehorned into any position possible at the detriment of good quality players Unlike Butland the greedy twat took the prem wages offered upon relegation putting us in peril of FFP and curtailed our rebuild. And then had the gall to cup his fucking ears to those who are the heart and soul of the club.

Personally, I think the third against Watford, Allen would’ve got across to that, unlike Cousins. As I said, not a world beater, but a damn sight better than the aforementioned. Just reading the above, seems I forgot Thompson, which also says a lot. We need and have needed, a destroyer for quite some time(Ajayi? Mr Scholes?????)and a btb midfielder to cover Clucas (cover being when Clucas goes on one of his anonymous streaks, not only for injury)

I'm keen for him to get back. He's not as bad as he is made out to be, and will give us more options, always a good thing in a thankless unforgiving schedule.

I think we've been better without him. I'd look to get him healthy, get him some games and then help him move on. We can't take another dip in form when in this league position.

Funny how our current manager, who incidentally is now the only one that matters has quoted that he can’t wait to get Joe back into the starting eleven. Another who works with him every single day but has again got it wrong🙄🙄

Funny how our current manager, who incidentally is now the only one that matters has quoted that he can’t wait to get Joe back into the starting eleven. Another who works with him every single day but has again got it wrong🙄🙄 Mark Hughes was doing a fantastic job until he started shoehorning Allen into his midfield, so yeah, MON could easily do the same if he follows that path. I think you're forgetting what you're actually asking of him (JA). You are in essence expecting him to improve on his pre injury form, which I feel is quite unfair. He was always a player who relied on his energy, a player of his age and type of injury is never going to have the same energy. When Bojan returned from his injury he wasn't the same but was still effective because he had bags of class pre injury, he got away with losing a bit of his mojo, plus he had age on his side. The same goes for current players, Mikel and Fletcher, they are aging but because of their class they've got away with losing some of their pace etc. Joe doesn't have that luxury he depends solely on his energy, and that is what he will lose after his injury.

Was he signed to play as a DM - yes. Was he shunted forward because he couldn't be trusted - yes. Have we got worse since he joined - yes. Have we not had a midfield for the majority of that time - yes. Has he played in a lot of games in that so is totally in line for blame - yes. Did Cousins replace him in the resumption and if anything we looked a bit better - yes. The pull he has is odd. He's done absolutely nothing for this club bar help in its demise.

You're hardly subtle about it. I don't want anyone sacked bar Scholes. I just want us to pass the ball a bit better and along the ground a bit more. Do that and we should move up the table and get what I think we deserve, which is to finish in the top 2. Now stop being a drama queen Wingy.

All you do when you can't form an argument is claim people are someone else.
