Wasn’t it just a performance of a side that aren’t suited to the formation it was playing? I don't think so. It is a formation that helped us stay up at the end of last season. Only today our midfield and forwards didn't show anywhere near enough to cause Bristol any problems. A really poor game from Powell and Clucas and even worse from Vokes. Brown aside, we offered absolutely nothing going forward and played directly into the oppositions hands. I know you don't like Joe Allen but I think that his work rate would have made a difference today. I’d drop Powell (if he carries on the way he has in the first two games, prancing around creating nothing and falling over all the bloody time) and play Clucas further forward with Mikel and Allen sitting in.

That may well be an option especially away from home. We all know that Powell is capable of something special every now and then but he needs to be more consistent as do all of them with the size of the squad we have nowadays.

Did we learn anything from the session Fuller? Absolutely Its a good job that Angela Smith is present at the press conferences because she's the only one who asks the tricky questions and gets away with it. Apparently

Why not just play Powell further up in his prefered position?

At this stage, and his age, given the injury I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him properly until next season.

The one up side of having a key player get a serious injury is that they can be like a new signing when they return.
Sometimes they can be even better than a new signing because they don’t have to settle into a new club and squad. Similarly the manager knows exactly what he’s getting.
I’ve a feeling Joe returning is going to be massively significant for us.

To those saying he's shit, Allen was in great form before his injury and in the game he got injured in on half time, was excellent. Turning your nose up at his return is a bit daft.
He's also got the motivation of an international tournament in the summer. Yes, he'll get in the squad regardless but he'll want to prove he should be starting.

The article refers to an “in house game” being a desirable stage in his recuperation. What does that mean? Im not sure if it’s behind closed doors friendly or an 11 v 11 with both sides composed of our players.

We replaced him with Jordan Cousins and the performances were the exact same 😂
