The problem is that football is perfectly capable of helping itself but the Premier League Clubs have all the money and seem intent on keeping it all for themselves. They're helping themselves because clubs are ran as a business. You don't see Ryanair bailing out Easyjet do you? That's true but whereas Ryanair don't need EasyJet the majority of Premier League clubs do need a healthy infrastructure below them.

Where do clubs like ours stand with FFP with all this going off?

They’re saying as you were for another six months then. Realistically, as things stand, it’s hard to see fans being back any time this season. The government are blagging it, on a wing and a prayer. Advice and decisions change on a daily basis. Can’t see these latest restrictions having a great deal of impact. If the staged readmittance of fans had gone ahead, what numbers were they talking? Just a few thousand and people would have been kicking off about it not being fair. I guess it would have had to have been done in some kind of ‘everyone gets a turn’ basis?🤔

I am currently running myself as a business, in keeping with the modern football ethos.
Therefore firestick, iptv, around 80 quid. Less than half the price of the streams and I'll probably cancel a load of sky channels and finish the season with more money than the season has cost.
Bet stoke are regretting their customer service and shite approach to streams now.
🥂 Gold toilet seat on order!

Is reduced competitiveness for one or two seasons such a bad thing if it means the survival of our lower league system? The great thing about our league (and non league) system, is that over 95% of the population live within reasonable travel distance of a professional or semi professional football club. That simply doesn't happen in most other countries and we are hugely lucky that it happens in England. It wouldn't be for one or two seasons though, it would have to be an ongoing thing otherwise there is very little benefit to doing it. You couldn'treally change the season prize money for a couple of seasons and the impact of doing so wouldn't come into play until the end of the season. It would not need to be an "ongoing thing" at the sort of level which is needed at the moment. This Pandemic poses unique problems in my life time - and I am 74. Drastic measures are needed if the league system in England to survive it. As a poster earlier has said, the failure of our (world beating ) test and trace system has made a bad situation far worse. There will be some ongoing problems after the pandemic is over - because the present system does have flaws. But any redistribution going forwards would not need to be at anything like the level needed now to help the system survive the pandemic.

£10 is a fair deal per game all things considered, especially when you are saving money on travel to and from the game, parking, any food and drink you'd pay over the odds for etc. It's just the ability to buy all games, or half games at least as a block, instead of having to log in and buy individual games that would be a useful addition IMO. Come on, a tenner is fair isn't it? and yes, I have changed my mind from previous... The problem is, only the diehards will carry on paying it every week - especially if the team aren't doing well - and it's not the same watching it from home without any fans in the ground either. Clubs also have no idea how much revenue they'll receive from one week to the next. A season pass will be needed.

It's mainly Chelsea who've spent a lot of money. The spending levels are otherwise way down. Liverpool for example bought two players last week but the majority of the fees are paid from next year with little paid up front.

I said a month or more ago that health professionals I know were predicting a second spike which could be worse than the first wave. I received abuse from someone on here for scaremongering and making people unnecessarily worried. Perhaps that person (and I don't remember who it was) will think twice before abusing someone on here again. It is not necessary. People who did not grasp the seriousness of this virus and disregarded the rules and advice are to some extent responsible for the fact that we will not be watching football this season.

I said in April we wouldn’t attend a match until the start of next season never mind seeing any of this. Best thing they can do is come out with an alternative now

I've been prattling on about this exact thing for bloody weeks. Should be £5 per game but you MUST buy all 44 games (ie what's left of the season) - total price £220. £110 goes to your club and £5 to each of the other 22 clubs you are to play away from home - simples. You don't have to be on a multi million pound contract Mr Scholes to come up with a good, sensible and fair idea. I think the clubs need to find which is the optimum price. Streaming at £10 per match when there is just 1 watching and the picture is poor and atmosphere plastic will be OK for a few games but the "novelty" will wear off pretty quickly - it already is but perhaps that's to do with our performances. The clubs need to do the maths and see where the tipping point price is. 10,000 at £5 is worth more than 4000 at £10 (obviously). I think they should probably stick to single games for £10 but sell some sort of streaming season ticket for home games only then pay the fixed price for each away game and another alternative season ticket for all games. I definately think that the money for away streams should go to the away club (as the gate receipts would).

I know I'm in the minority but enough is enough now these restrictions need to end. We can't live like this infinitum.... Perhaps you need a tour of a covid ward. This is not a normal virus. Six months after having had the virus my previously healthy friend still has pains in her sternum when out of breath and cannot hold her arms above her head.

You will then put other people's lives at risk not just your own. You do realise that by Saturday (so it is probably a lot higher now) 500 people had contracted covid in Bolton because ONE man chose to disregard the quarantine rules on returning from Portugal and went on a pub crawl?

They are both simply subjective opinions.

I'm not accusing you of not following the rules but the bloke in Bolton proves that we can't trust everybody to be as honest and we have to be able to if we are going to be able to relax the rules. A lot of people still do not dare go out of the house because they do not trust other people to keep them safe and they are now being proved right to have had that fear.

That's what happens in arguments all the time - and not just on message boards.

Until then we have to be able to trust each other and until that time the rules will have to be stricter and stricter to keep everyone safe.
