I thought he looked decent in the midfield, better than Clucas at least I really don’t think he’ll ever be close to clucas I know! It’s laughable to compare a player at 21 who has played about 60 first team games in his career (many from the bench), to Clucas, who has had a pretty solid career and has done well for us up until getting injured.

he knows that, but he doesn't have the personality that you require. He's very quiet, very humble, probably too nice for his own good, but popular within the club. It's perhaps not surprising he gets listed the same week that his close friend Verlinden was shown the door. He's not been listed. The article indicates a couple of clubs have made enquiries about taking him on loan. He was listed by the Sentinel.

When I see "listed" I assume listed for transfer / loan by the club, you mean he was mentioned in the article as someone who may go out on loan (based on the opinion of the author)?

Surely we can get him a championship loan. He needs to be playing higher quality football than Shrewsbury

His ability is decent - at least going forward
Unfortunately his mentality seems way too frail for the higher levels.
Started playing well for us, then one bad pass back vs Brentford and he's spiralled out of favour again.

He needs to be playing higher quality football than Shrewsbury He doesn’t seem to be cutting it in the champ, hence why he’s rarely starting and we’d just be giving him to possible competitor. He’ll get the minutes in the pitch, likely start every game and it’s not too far so we can easily keep an eye on him and he doesn’t have to go miles away from what he knows. Be good loan move I’d say

Good move, he's a way off a starting berth given his own dip in form and our returning/new players

If Tymon is going to establish himself in the brutal world of football it probably needs to be here, where he is well respected, and it needs to be under the guidance of Michael O'Neill. He already rescued Tymon once, when it appeared that JT was heading for the scrapyard of wasted footballers. O'Neill saw his efforts well rewarded in the Forest game, where Josh came on as an impact sub. We won and was catapulted from being just above the relegation zone to a morale boosting lower midtable position.
However friend turned to foe - metaphorically speaking - when the new season began and MON thought Tymon was the answer to all the problems MON was facing on the left bank, whenever he rolled out what MON thought was the brilliant 352-system. As previous managers had been startled to see, this was not at all the case. To MON's credit he then gave Josh a new chance to play where he himself had always preferred to be, which is central midfield. Again JT was unexpectedly giving O'Neill new options. But though it gave him new options it also gave him new problems as he now became one more player among an already congested section in the squad.
He's now got 18 months left on his contract. He's hardly making a dent on our wage structure and he's a decent hard worker when he plays. He could still be useful if we have another inury crisis or Clucas doesn't find his form, but he's never going to be the first name on the team sheet.

That already reads like a recipe for disaster. Because Josh is not a wing back. Though if he is highly rated (by whom?), he might stand a chance.

Good move for the lad. It’s easy to forget the lad is still only 21. Loads of time on his hands. Clearly found adapting to stoke tough after his move at such a young age. The loan to MK dons was a shit one for him. This could do him the world of good. I’m expecting him to be a standout for them and come back full of confidence

If he's going to make it in the brutal world of football he needs to be a first team regular - which isn't going to happen at Stoke this season. He's been given chances, performed well in the cup games and made a bit of a balls up when given a run in the league at a time when he could have established himself as a first team regular. He's clearly got talent but there just seems to be something missing in his game at the moment. With Norrington-Davies coming in, Fox about to come back from injury and McClean, Clucas and Thompson ahead of him for the left midfield role a loan to a club where he has a good chance of being a first team regular is a good move all round.

I think Tymon will probably have a decent career in L1 and L2.
There's enough ability there for that level, but he needs to nail down a position. Too defensively suspect to make a left back, not good enough going forward to be a proper wing back or winger, goes missing too much in central midfield...
I still don't know what he's supposed to be.

That Nottingham game though was really unbelievable!

He was perfectly fine at this level, I think some on here have short memories, very short. When he played alongside Cousins in a midfield 2 they did a fine job. They were both dumped out of starting XI for Name players who haven’t done half as good a job, and that's with a midfield 3.
