2 nice assists in your little cameo,
You've caught up our creative £10 million right winger.
It was a great sub appearance,

Excellent cameo. Could have netted but for a great block. Defended well too.
I've said all along he's not as bad as people say.

Looked great going forward. We already knew he had that in him.
Hopefully his defensive work has improved.
Would solve the LB situation if so!

He's as much as a left back as Gareth Bale was.

Odd game to judge him on
Can't defend is his problem

MON just described him as more of a wing back, which is spot on.
I wonder if he'll stick to this 3 4 1 2 next season.

He's got pace and he's not Bruno so that's a positive. When I've seen him for the U23's he's not impressed, but that was encouraging. A bit of confidence and a run and maybe but remain to be convinced.

I was hoping Tymon would breakthrough at some point next season, as O'Neill made a positive comment about him a couple of weeks ago. Yet on tonight's evidence, he could be an early starter. It's a quandary for O'Neill as we need another left-back whether Tymon is to be a starter or not. Would someone want to sign as first-choice left-back with Tymon breathing down their neck? And don't worry, I'm aware it was only a brief cameo and am not getting carried away.

Nothing to show up to tonight why he deserves a chance, when he's had a chance hes royally fucked it up with Rowett destroying what if any confidence he had subbing him before half time. Tonight he had a great chance to show what progress he's made and fair play to him he took it. I've no doubt that there's a player in there somwhere perhaps MON is the one to get him to perform to his potential. Gouranga.

Of course the tactical geniuses will claim 4231 is the only viable formation. They'll even go as far as claiming that's what we are playing when we win, even though it was a different formation. And every time we lose it'll be because we've not played 4231, even if we have. And there will be no recognition of the actual formation most of the time, because 4231 is all. that. matters. But I don't think O'Neill will be that arsed about those fools.

Oakley Booth was awful first half for sure, second half he grew into the game though. We ended with a young midfield which was hugely encouraging.

And don't worry, I'm aware it was only a brief cameo and am not getting carried away. As much as I am a fan of Josh, even the twenty minutes of wonderplay is not going to earn him a start in O'Neill's team, especially if we continue with 3-4-1-2. Because the sort of a wingback position belongs to McClean, and as far as O'Neill is concerned, McClean is one of the untouchables in the team. Today he moved inside, but that position belongs to Powell, when fit, and he's equally undropable. But Tymon, who sometimes even with a 20-man bench, hasn't always been among the 20, will have moved much further ahead in O'Neill's mind, like he's the man to throw on when you're looking for a gamechanging sub. He did that today, and O'Neill won't be forgetting that. And he's got three more years on his contract.

With 5 subs and more midweek games we will use more players more often but not many for 90 minutes week in week out If O'Neill is going to use wing backs then Tymon could get used more
