I joined Barlaston at the start of the first lockdown after not being a member anywhere for a good 10 years or more. They had an offer on - £500 for the year. Got my money's worth over the summer as I'd get a round in pretty much every weekend as well as going up there a couple of nights a week do just do 9 holes whilst it was still light until late. From late September onwards though you either couldn't book a tee for love nor money or it was closed due to lockdown. The robbing cunts have said that there'll be no extension of anyone's membership though, despite it being shut for four months. It's a nice course and friendly club but they can kiss my crinkled fartbox if they think I'll be renewing at double the price next year. I thought about joining myself last summer so glad I didn’t after reading this. It’s good value for money with the one off’s.

It was worth it initially (and would have been more than worth it if they'd have just extended everyone's membership by a couple of months to make up for when it was forcibly closed).
Can't believe that they've had the brass neck to make people pay for a service that they haven't been able to use. It's like taking out a 12 month Sky TV subscription but them only connecting you up after you've already been paying for 3 months.
I'm going to email that goggle-eyed twat off of Rogue Traders tomorrow.

I’ve been looking into membership near me and £1,500 a year is the norm. That would be just about palatable if all I played with joined AND I wasn’t paying for rounds elsewhere.
I am looking at lifestyle membership at my local club where they give you 7 day playing rights for £650 and you have a number of credits which are debited at a different level depending what time you play.....
Might just pay and play again this year.

He was fed up because he it was ok at first but then he struggled getting a Tee time. Im not against memberships. I just got to find one priced that justifys me being able to fit it in.

I have never joined due to cost versus amount of times you play. You would need to play 2/3 times a week to benefit, impossible in a 9-5 job, and you are basically paying 1500 for 8mths membership....winter greens/winter play is not enjoyable. I know one of my brothers mates is member at hawkstone on a credit scheme. Think you use 3 credits for weekend 7-1300 tee times, 2 for weekend 1300 and later and 1 credit for late tee times/midweek...a great idea that all clubs should use.

Harrington's interview was excellent, you could feel the confidence coursing through his body. Koepka continues to be a bit drab, almost Steve Davis-like. US Open and damage limitation up next. Got a sneaky feeling for Rose.

Had casey and Ancer e/w (top 8) Also had Hatton e/w & then Justin Thomas to win only, I seem to win more money on golf than anything else lately.
Never used to like Phil, but I've warmed to him over the years, great scenes down the 18th, must've been nerve-wracking.
Not long till the US open now

They make tough courses impossible with some of the rough/pin positions though......

Safe to say we won't be seeing a Koepke/DeChambeau pairing in the Ryder Cup.

Anyone on here played the Twenty-Ten course at Celtic Manor? Taken the day off on Tuesday to go down & play it before heading across to Swansea.
I fancied Royal Porthcawl but couldn't get a tee time early enough.
Little overdue treat & I'm quite excited.

Although it`s a brute when the wind is up.
