As soon as I heard we’d won a project in Cologne I got my elbows out and barged everyone else out of the way🤣 I’ve not been for about 7 years and can’t remember the best areas and bars. I’m sure it’ll all come flooding back but any recommendations welcome👍🏻

A snitzel and a few beers nothing ott just good honest food and beer.

Just remember to put a beer mat on top of your glass when you've had enough because when they're empty they just plonk a full one for you no need to ask.

Nice, weather should be OK but plenty of outside covered heated tables if it's not. Both Cologne and Duisberg have home games while you're out there if they allow fans in and if you fancy it.

Definitely. Always try to catch a game while “working” in Europe. I quite fancy Duisburg v Victoria Koln, almost a derby game so should be a decent atmosphere. I see their ground is a similar capacity to ours. Wonder if they get decent crowds as they’re quite low down in the table.

Duisburg has a decent ground mate and there is a bar/restaurant 100yds away beside a lake definitely worth a visit. 30mins from cologne on the train.

I'm off to the Lake District next month for a winter mountaineering course + a couple of days extra. Hopefully there will be enough snow/ice!

Seen a few people up there on those lately, fingers crossed on the weather. I was there when the beast from the east hit in 2018, it was like a different world. Tick a few more wainwrights off hopefully 🤞🤞🤞

I’ll need to be based in Cologne so I’ve got a decision to make. It’s just an hour on the train isn’t it? I’ll have to see what time I can knock off from “work”.

Isn't that where Chris Iwelumo was born, did they have a statue of him ? I went to Kleve in 2019, a day out from Dusseldorf, another nice little place. I aim to get to Trier this year, then down to Munich for a couple of days and then the sleeper train to Rome, and carry on down to Siciliy on trains, stopping off a couple of times, ferry from Palermo to Genoa, couple of days in Turin and then back home

If you’ve got a car at your disposal in Cologne take a trip out to Monschau From memory about 30 minutes drive. Absolutely beautiful German town

I was in Trapani a few years ago, got charged a bit extra for each person, it was night time but a guy sitting at the end of the bar in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, not drinking or eating presumed wanted a tip. It wasn't one of the blues brothers either.
