Does this bloke deserve a 2nd chance with us next season under the guidance of a proper manager, one who seems to be getting the best out of our players by playing a system that suits us. I think he was hung out to dry a little bit with having to play a role he wasnt suited too, also have no doubt that had he of stayed he would of scored more than the 4 goals Gregory has to his name this season. He's a goalscorer him and Campbell upfront will get goals he deserves a 2nd chance up a good manager |

It would be interesting to see him alongside Fletcher with Powell in behind. Afobe needs balls down the sides of the centre halves. Alas MON will never play such an attacking formation. |

He's just not equipped to lead the line for us. Get rid and replace him. It’s astonishing how a manager can see a players strengths and weaknesses, sign him knowing what they are, and then just totally ignore them when selecting them for the team. |

I hadn't seen these quotes from Afobe before - I thought one of the reasons we did so poorly was because half the team thought we'd walk the league, and this quote helps back that up... It’s like the fact MON gave him a chance last season in friendlies and the cup game against Blackpool has just been totally forgotten. I mean I could understand in a way because the bloke was non existent in those games.
He’s crap, end of story. His “proven goal scoring record” is one of the biggest footballing myths I’ve ever come across.
He’s just spent a season in Turkey in a league where Diouf scored 18 and he scored 4.

Was just about to say the same. Afobe has always been awful for us. He needs to play in a system with 2 strikers, which pretty much means 4-4-2 (thus no Powell- at least not as a number 10). The bloke does nothing other than hang about the area poaching, and he isn't even particularly good at that. One of the worst signings we've ever made, and God there's been some competition. |

This is exactly the type of characters and mentalities that MH started bringing into the club and then Rowett went and added even more, still paying the same insane amounts of money but instead for Championship (questionable) ability instead….. MON came into the club saying he wouldn’t have sanctioned the loan deal he was on at the time if he was at the club because he’s a proper goal scorer.
After actually getting to see him up close in the pre-season however it wasn’t long before Benik found himself out on loan and that tells us everything we need to know really.
