Does this bloke deserve a 2nd chance with us next season under the guidance of a proper manager, one who seems to be getting the best out of our players by playing a system that suits us.
I think he was hung out to dry a little bit with having to play a role he wasnt suited too, also have no doubt that had he of stayed he would of scored more than the 4 goals Gregory has to his name this season.

Yes. Think he’d do well with Campbell. Plus one of the Scottish lads and that could be the basis of a good strike force to select from

After what he’s been through this year he deserves everything we can offer him and his family.
Given the club’s (Coates) recent track record in looking after our own I’m sure he’ll be offered everything he needs.

Should never have been shipped out to bring in Hogan. Think he can offer plenty with the right service.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Afobe was our top goal scorer next season. Our manager has been able to rescue lost causes like Lyndsay, Smith, and Vokes so there is no reason why he can’t get a tune out of Benik.

Would be very surprised if he came back after the disgraceful way the fans treated him. Was totally shameful.

Everyone deserves a second chance.
The question will all be about whether Benik wants to stay and take that chance or take a clean break and move on.
You couldn't really argue with him if it were the latter given the awful things he's had to deal with.
I just hope both clubs are doing their utmost to help him and his family.

The abuse he received from a section of our ( loosely) support was beyond the pale .....especially that day he was substituted in his last appearance
He’s well within his rights to say fuck off I’d like a transfer

If he doesn't fancy it then HE can fuck off and find a transfer. Either way, in MON we trust...

I was totally unimpressed with Benik’s first season- but given the change that MON has managed to make in several players, yes he definitely deserves a chance.

Some of lot were an absolute disgrace towards Afobe. I'd never want to wear the shirt again if I was him.

He rightly got abuse for failing to trap a ball that 90% of our support could probably have controlled. We paid a huge fee for him and probably give him a salary toward the very top end of the championship and he has never shown anything to justify it. The only shocking thing is that it took so long for the fanbase to turn on the team. It would be interesting to see if MON could get a tune out of him but on the face of it, I wouldn't play him ahead of Campbell or Vokes.

I think MON could get Haugaard playing - definitely worth a second chance for Benik.
Having said that, after everything he's been through I just hope he can find peace again - who cares about football really when something like that happens?

To be fair I don't think Rowett or Jones played a formation to suit him.

If Berahino got a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th chance despite being a grade A prick then Afobe - who has always remained professional - certainly deserves the chance to play for us again. Question is, will he want to.

Definitely and especially with Powell in the team. Afobe has good movement but we have no-one capable of finding him, his pace could be just what we need

the first 10 games or so he was good but then went on a barren spell and lost all confidence for the rest of the season The change in tactics didn't help.
When we started the season all guns blazing like the 2-2 draw against Wednesday when he scored after 2 mins, he played better because we were attacking. Unfortunately the defence was absolute atrocious and that's when the draws started, we didn't play to his strengths.
As MON is on his way to becoming the second coming of Jesus if he keeps us up, he could probably work a miracle on Afobe like feeding the 5000. Have the faith!

But why was he being jeered? Because some of our fans have absolutely no idea on how to get behind their team. Pay your money, do what you want. Devil's advocate would be 'some of our fans aren't happy applauding the team into the third tier after four years of massive, incremental decline'.

In my experience, if a Stoke player gets jeered by a significant number of fans in unison there is usually justification. Don't always agree with it but they have usually bought it on themselves.
Afobe has been wank for us so far. Blame the system, blame the management but his effort, application and end product were consistently poor.
