Does that bring the exits to 14 this summer? Wow! Permanent Gregory Etebo Ndiaye Sorensen Wimmer Bauer Vokes Collins Cousins Mikel Lindsey Woods Out on loan Afobe Blondy Edwards I think that’s right Etebo is a loan too I think, but with a possibillity to become permanent. It depends on his success this season I presume.

What about some praise for the CEO who got rid of them and the managers who wanted them! We sold our prized asset to pay off the players he negotiated the contracts with. He was a cb playing at rb because we had better!

To be fair, they’ve done a great job getting rid of the dead wood and have probably shifted more than any of us could have expected. I just wonder if we’re still paying a portion of some of their wages?

I'll be very surprised if we didn't have to pay a fee here and there to get rid, but still it would be beneficial for us which is the main point here.

Yeah there will be a few pay offs here and there I would imagine but if it helps us get in line with FFP then so be it

Yeah there will be a few pay offs here and there I would imagine but if it helps us get in line with FFP then so be it Not just good financially but surely going to be a much happier squad with a group of players who actively want to be here rather than having loads of unwanted castoffs hanging around the place (often on much bigger wages than those actually playing).

I hope he will go as well, but at least he got skills on the ball. I like to see footballers at the club not just headless runners! I won't mention anybody, but I guess people who have read this board regularly know who I'm talking about!

When Eidur Gudjonsson was at Fulham three different clubs ( w e we're one) we're contributing to his £90k a week salary when we signed Duberry Leeds we're still paying majority of his salary that's two Stoke related examples, goes on all the time, all over the place football finances are nothing if not bizarre I can’t see a club perilously close to getting buggered by the FFP badger agreeing to contribute to a player’s salary they don’t own. I accept it might go on, but I’d be stunned if we were doing anything other than just paying these guys off with a one-off payment as they walk out the door. In financial terms it often makes better sense to pay off a debt in interest free instalments rather than paying it off as a lump sum. Similarly, in FFP terms, it is often better to continue to pay a percentage of a player's wage than to pay him off at the time we sell him. For one thing, paying a percentage of his wages often spreads the payments over 2 financial years rather than taking a big hit in one financial year. I'm sure Stoke will look at each individual case as it affects FFP and decide how or if the payoff should be spread over the life of the player's contract. One thing is certain - if a player still under contract is to be transferred and his new wage is lower than his present one, he is entitled to have the difference paid - be that in a lump sum or instalments.

I can sort of get my head round some sort of pay off, as undeserved as it is, but it’s when you get that mad situation like the one at Leeds a few years back, when we are still paying some of these wasters wages months/years after they’ve left the club & are turning out for someone else.

I liked him. Not a goal scorer , but we knew that before we signed him. One of the Nathan Jones era who come out with an element of pride. His performance at Barnsley away for O’Neils first game was incredible.

It's a strange one with Greggers...he definitely goes with my best wishes, always seemed to give his best, just lacked the quality we needed.

We kept playing him as a lone striker which wasn't his game - ironically I think he would be decent backup in the currently favoured 532 formation but just not one for the future. Wish him well - a decent (but limited) pro.

This has been a very good transfer window for us, and the club deserve massive credit, Shipping out all those players on big wages, Wimmer, Vokes, ect, was no easy task and they have done so well. Not to mention replacing Collins so promptly with a very capable replacement. We even brought in a striker. I really don't think we could have asked for much more considering the financial situation. They won't have gone for free! We've sold an asset cheap and a good chunk of the cash has gone to get rid of the wasters.

Completely the wrong signing for us but I've got a feeling he will score 15 to 20 goals for them next season.

Completely the wrong signing for us but I've got a feeling he will score 15 to 20 goals for them next season. I doubt it. Not a natural goalscorer, and while I know goalscoring opportunities are a rare thing at Stoke these days he did have tendencies to miss sitters. What was that one he missed last season that was practically on the goal line?

I don't get the vitriol towards Gregory, always gave 100%, yeah we know he wasn't a world beater but fuck me he's been a lot better than most of the mega million pound signings we've had. Good luck to him- no bitterness from the Tatlock household. Gouranga.

All the best for the next stage and thanks for agreeing to leave. Definitely a professional in that he trained, worked hard for the team and looked like he did his best whenever he had the shirt. Turning into a great window this.

Turning into a great window this. I don't think you can fault him at all. He wanted to better himself here but wasn't obviously up to the standard. He had the right attitude and was a grafter but just not the right signing for us. I'd take him any day of the week over Vokes and some of the other drivel we've signed these last few years.
