Me too. Grew up in the Moorlands area but my Father, Mother, and both Grandfathers were avid Stokies. Was taken down to the Victoria Ground first when I was only 4 or so and was a season ticket holder at 7. That was the early 70s
I spent 4 years in Worcester studying, 2 years in Shropshire before eventually moving to Cheshire after getting married, where I’ve stayed.
Great thing about living in Shrewsbury was some of the journeys to games along the A53 were fun. I would often meet fans of other clubs going to play Shrewsbury on the drive to the game, it was in the days of the pink panthers etc. I remember a night match when Man City were off to play Shrewsbury, flashing lights at all the cars with blue and white scarves heading the opposite way and exchanging some cordial hand gestures. 😂 or maybe not so cordial.
I was young and innocent then lol.
