And we’re massively underachieving with it. TP did his job and he did it ok. Could have been better but achieved the goal. Which was nice but it was the goal. Not worth a fanfare. Easy to say after it, but were you saying it well we were on an upward trajectory, a long term upward trajectory. I highly doubt it, the ground was the loudest it has ever been under pulis. Tellit's own story Yes. I really can’t stand the bloke and what he stands for.

Yes. Only an idiot can’t see how good he is..... You need to get real, he has to learn the dark arts of being a central defender, he has the potential but at this stage it's just that. BG, Collins is better now than Lindsay, Baath and Cameron Carter Vickers. Without Shawcross we are seeing Baath for what he is, an honest lower Championship/ League 1 defender- last year people talked about him being a leader; Collins has shown more leadership in the 3 games he’s played than Ba’ath has shown all season.

The team are performing badly it's not the best circumstances either

Reading some of the other comments got me thinking and has confirmed for me what I think is a big part to blame for the state we’re in and watching....that....has just tipped a little more shit over to “their” side.
In my opinion (if anyone cares, and Jon, if you read this board) I think they/you should take a huge step back, collectively (not including that horrible little CEO, he can just fuck off), and invest the type of money that could completely overhaul this club. Employ actual people, at the top, who know fucking football. Not someone who “loves the game and is just trying to do the best for Stoke City”, someone who knows the fucking game inside out and can make actual footballing decisions. I actually think Jones is great, lives and breaths the game and is genuinely a nice guy. I believed him at first but I’m starting to think he is out of his depth. I still want to believe him, but as the weeks go on, I lose a little more faith (excuse the pun). I think he is really naive in his decision making, so maybe keep him at the club as a number two, a manager he can learn off?! Who can override some of Jones decisions. (Not TP by the way if you thought that’s where it was going). Maybe even Denise to organise the “business” side of things!
I don’t know. I just know something has got to change and the more this shit show goes on the more I am starting to worry we’re in a spiral.
Big decisions need making!

Oh right, peter coates' money took stoke & pulis to the premiership but 'as I keep hearing' £50m of peter Coates's money didn't take rowett & scfc to the premiership. Odd, that. 🤔 And we’re massively underachieving with it. TP did his job and he did it ok. Could have been better but achieved the goal. Which was nice but it was the goal. Not worth a fanfare. Our club is just rife with nepotism isn't it, Jones is here because John's mate who couldn't cut it in the back room of the bookies goes to three matches a week and really likes watching football. what the fuck Could you imagine Man City sacking Guardiola, and then appointing the next manager because the owner went the pub with his mate, had a pint and a pack of McCoy's and said I know this dead good manager, go get him. It's incomprehensible that a professional football club could appoint a manager by having a fucking stupid mate who 'likes football' recommending you a manager. Just cannot comprehend it. It's sheer lunacy. That's not what happened though is it? I watched the video and it was nowhere near as cringe worthy as people are making it out to be. It was a fans night. I would prefer the Directors to unbutton their collar and be a little more open with the fans. The story did drag on a bit but he acknowledged that fact. He is not the first person to drag a story out and he won't be the last. My boss is the shittiest story teller going but he seems to manage 3,000 employees and contractors quite well. The man is obviously a fan. He is not daft. He may be enthusiastic and even naive but there are plenty of older heads available within the club who can and will advise. People need to lay off with all the hyperbole. Its veering on hysterical for some.

A week after Bury went out of existence because of mismanagement by their owner I can't believe the insults hurled at the Coates family on here. They are genuine football people and fans of Stoke City who want the same for Stoke as we fans do, probably more as their money is running the club. Yes they have made mistakes but no one is infallible and we know they were genuine mistakes made in what they thought were the best interest of the club. Yes perhaps Jon is a bit naive but Peter wasn't going to last forever and in handing over the reigns to Jon was trying to ensure the long term stability of the club after he has gone. He is letting him learn the job while Peter is around to offer advice and by doing it without publicising the change ensures that he can deflect some of the pressure off Jon.
We are not the first club to have appointed several managers in search of the right one. I was in favour of Potter instead of Rowett but can anybody honestly say that he would have done any better? Swansea were obviously a more stable club at the time having been able to carry on this season where they left of last season with another ' risky' manager. With expectations and the dressing room in the state they were I suspect Potter too would have failed. Rowett and Jones were no bigger a risk than Pulis was when we appointed him. He succeeded but at the time of his appointment had no more experience than Jones or Rowett. Expectations were lower allowing him to settle into the club with far less pressure. If we have to get rid of Jones so be it but I hope we are still brave enough to take a chance rather than going for a boring manager just because he has experience.
Whatever happens I know and trust that Jon and Peter will genuinely make the decision in the best interest of the club but they do not have a magic wand to wave as some childlike fans on here seem to think they should. This is the real world, any business decision is risky and might fail. Man Utd with all their wealth and no concerns for FFP are still looking for the right manager and they've been looking for longer than us.

Plus the fact it would cost around £250mill for some bigger to buy it of the Coates family taking in the fact the club owes peter £100mill that wouldn’t need paying back to him unless the club is sold.

I can name several clubs whose owners or similar I wouldn't want anywhere near Stoke : Blackburn, Hull, Newcastle, Derby, Forest immediately spring to mind. They are all very similar clubs to Stoke apart from Newcastle who are a lot bigger. Apart from Hull I would argue that all those clubs have a bigger fan base than Stoke.

Thank god for the wage reduction clause inserted in the majority of the contract else it still would be north of £90 mill a year
