Souttar def not good enough, slow cumbersome, let Joey have him Just out of interest mate how often have you seen him play. I've seen him once , albeit a while ago, and he didn't look that bad. He's not good enough. If people took rip at wolly then they will be doing the same with him. Dont understand the stick batth gets either. He's probably twice as quick as souttar.

What could be more perfect next season than a pool of Collins, Souttar with Ryan as a mentor and Lindsay hopefully developing too? 3 lads in their early 20s being 'coached and mentored' in all aspects by a club legend? Would love to see this, brilliant for the future and let's be honest they and we as fans couldn't hope for a better mentor who knows the position inside out and also is stoke through and through.

Watched him around 5 times at Fleetwood and about 20 times for our kids, the lad will never make it in the championship.

If it means Danny Baath being blasted away from the solar system, I'm all for that. Batth has been our most important and best defender during the season! If we didn't have his ability in the air we would already have been relegated in my opinion!

I don't understand, what do people see in Lindsay? Lindsay has been playing regular first team footy for 6 years, and he still doesn't know where to stand on a football pitch. He's a league 1 player and always will be.

Thanks for that Danny Batth's Mum Sure! It's admirable Rob, your support for him. I disagree though. Although if he can go through today without a colossal fuck up I might change my mind. He can usually have a decent game, then the next game he's atrocious. Qpr away was embarrassing

Although the last time I saw him play was for the Australian national team and he had a decent game. Albeit against some nomarks.

Chester really looked like a player without confidence and that always makes it difficult for the other central defender. In addition their winger ran rings around Indi and Batth can't be everywhere all the time.

I hope we try and do something with him next season, you maybe wouldn't play him every game if he isn't the most mobile but some sides you know are going to lump it forward and how could he not feature against Millwall etc.

League One Sunderland: Fans react to Harry Souttar’s performance for Fleetwood on Tuesday By Kealan Hughes Posted on February 28, 2020 Sunderland: Fans react to Harry Souttar’s performance for Fleetwood on Tuesday Sunderland narrowly snatched a draw at home to Fleetwood on Tuesday but the visitors had remained resolute at the back for more than 90 minutes. As a result, former Sunderland player Stephen Elliott has highlighted defender Harry Souttar for praise, suggesting that he is the best centre-back he has seen the Black Cats come up against this term. The 21-year-old is 6’5 and used his physicality to his advantage on Tuesday as he made a remarkable 13 clearances, though Kyle Lafferty’s introduction made life more difficult for him, and helped Max Power score a vital equaliser. Nevertheless, several supporters are in agreement with Elliott and have also praised the youngster’s impressive display, with one fan stating that he is keen for the Black Cats to sign him. Souttar started his career at Stoke and given he is already capped, scoring four goals in two games for Australia, he may be a sensible addition given his youth. Here is some of the reaction to his performance at the Stadium of Light, as one fan joked he is a ‘9 foot 3 colossus’.

It turns out we didn't need liam lindsey then? So wasteful.
Just reading ex Sunderland striker Stephen Elliott praising him as the best he's seen this season.

Your comment regarding Batth meant you lost all credibility with your view on Souttar. Batth is one of the worst Centre Half’s I’ve seen at Stoke- ducking out of headers, the mobility of a 3 legged crab and a complete inability to pass the ball.

Ideally should have been recalled. When Collins is barely getting a game? He's better off playing first-team football, surely. He should be well prepared whatever division we end up in next season.

He might be better staying away and progressing, as by all accounts players, specifically defenders appear to be regressing in recent times.

Federici Edwards, Souttar, Collins, ? ? Ince, sorenson, clucas, verlinden, Powell Diouf It would be a laugh a minute...if you could remember what day we were supposed to be playing
