I think we need a quality centre half as much as a left back really.....just don’t think Baath and Lindsay will cut it long term? Collins hopefully will come through but think Indi will be off at the end of the season?
Really hope Ryan makes it back but injuries are clearly taking their toll on him.

Needs to be part of the first team pool next season Collins, Souttar presumably Chester. Ideally Shawcross as well and that would do.

He's absolute terrible. Can't run. We have two other centre halves in lindsay and batth who can't run, we don't need another.

Problem with Souttar, as well as he has done at Fleetwood is that he is too similar to what we already have - good at defending deep, winning stuff in the air and the physical side, but also slow, uncomfortable on the ball and looks exposed when singled out by quick, dynamic players. Best case scenario is that he would end up as fourth choice next season - let's say that Chester returns to Villa, Indi leaves and, for this, that Ryan retires - he will be behind Batth, Lindsay and Collins in the pecking order whilst offering nothing new. Hate saying this, but if Fleetwood offered a reasonable figure, I would be tempted to sell, and use the money towards a more athletic option at centre-half.

Christ we are in dire straits.

Actually he's very comfortable on the ball. Good control and can pass.

To me Collins is a better option than Lindsay, but I guess it will be Batth and Chester from now on anyway. If Ryan can get injury free again it will probably be him and Chester.

Those people saying he's too slow, he can't be any slower than Danny Batth surely? The bloke moves like he's got a fridge freezer on his back.

I think Batth in our two last games has shown why he is so important in this division! That said I've never seen Souttar play in a competitive game so I really don't know what he is able to, but the reports coming in seem to be very positive about his development. Still I think there will be too little experience at the back if we should play both Collins and Souttar at the back next season. I'd play Batth and Collins until I was certain Shawcross was really fit. For next season a pool of central defenders from Batth, Collins, Shawcross, Souttar and Lindsay would be OK in my opinion. Not too sure about Chester yet, and I'd certainly get rid of Indi and bring in a proper left back. Indi hasn't done too badly, but he is way too slow and doesn't bring anything going forward.

Isn't part of the problem here that most of us only see him in the weekly match highlights on Quest and as we generally only see the goals that Fleetwood concede the highlights are unlikely to show any defender at their best?

He is slow, no question He's also a good defender and good on the ball
Would be quite happy with Collins and Souttar,Shawcross and Chester and possibly Lindsay (if he can cut out his moments of madness, he's young so he could do) as the CB pool next season
Batth, when hey good he's very good but too many bad games I think Presume Bruno would want to move on

What could be more perfect next season than a pool of Collins, Souttar with Ryan as a mentor and Lindsay hopefully developing too?
3 lads in their early 20s being 'coached and mentored' in all aspects by a club legend?

If it means Danny Baath being blasted away from the solar system, I'm all for that.
