A terrific performance from Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at Wolverhampton Civic Hall last night. Good to hear! Wasn't some of the guitar interplay fantastic?

John Bramwell of I Am Kloot with a full band in Sheffield on Saturday.
Really engaging, inspiring songwriting and performance. Highly Recommended.

Saw The Skids and Spear Of Destiny at Gorilla in Manchester last night. Both bands were in top form and Skids frontman Richard Jobson has the energy of a man half his age. It was my first visit to Gorilla and really enjoyed it. The place was packed but we managed to get into the little balcony at the back of the room which gave us a great view without being squashed by the energetic crowd. Unfortunately I don’t have Mr Jobson’s energy level.

Doves at the sugarmill. Whilst i didn't have good knowledge of their repertoire I came away from the gig thinking that i need to find this bands music. They were excellent. Next up spizzenergi at the artisan tap.

Next up spizzenergi at the artisan tap. Great band, couldn't get to this one but they're touring in March. I think fact Jim isn't doing tour will affect sales as he's the known face of the band but hoping theyll get the same break Kasabian have had touring minus their sacked singer. The Places Between is a good best of but Lost Souls and Kingdom of Rust albums are particularly good.

Canadian rockers The Damn Truth at KKs Steelmill in Wolverhampton last night were excellent once again. Musically to me they are a cross between Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin. Their audience interaction is second to none. This was my fifth time seeing them in just over 2 years and they’ve never disappointed. I would have liked to stay in Wolves for Michael Monroe tonight but this wasn’t possible. Next up is Cheri Currie at the Eleven Club next week.

Next up spizzenergi at the artisan tap. Didn’t realise Spizz Energi were still going. Where’s Captain Kirk? is one of my favourite songs.
