Went to see Kasabian at the Co Op Live on Saturday night. Its hit & miss these days with Serge being the main front man. The last two album's are shockers but they have the big tune history to get away with doing an arena tour. Because of Serge, new album material and bangers, it was a proper mix bag of a night. My first time at Co-op live and even though I have obviously known the prices of buying drinks & food inside the place, it is still a shock to see the prices. £9 for a pint is scandalous even though I was not drinking it was still a shock to see. Me and Missus wanted some water, went to the bar and asked for two pints of water to only be told that it was cloudy and were not allowed to give it out. Over to one of the many self serve Co-op shops that they have in the arena. £7.20p for a can of fanta and can of water but were thirsty so needed to pay it. £14 for a hotdog - who the fuck is buying hotdogs at these prices? I paid £25 on the Co op Live App earlier in the day to park on the official car park. Turned up and drove straight on without a single person asking to see my ticket or if I wanted to pay for a ticket Best of of it too, over an hour to get off the car park Hard to choose which thing is the biggest rip off out of all that! All of the above plus getting a tram home is whats put me off going there, despite me living fairly close to it. Pencilled in Jamiroquai at Birmingham arena next year instead of the Coop. As its not in the middle of fucking nowhere, will twin it with a trip to the Brum Xmas markets.

I can see it been astronomical down there. You’d think legally they should be made to supply free water

Excuse me squeezing this in here but it is gig related Having spent some time cleaning off an old laptop today, I found some old video footage which I'd never had chance to look at properly. Getting this guy to come to Stoke back in 2015 is why I got involved with hosting live music and this video from 2022 shows why I bothered. Saw Willy Porter supporting Jethro Tull in 2001.

Can’t put a price on that😉

Saw Springsteen for my first time at the Apollo after queuing through the night for tickets in the days when you could do that!!! It was the end of January so sleeping bag and duvet were needed! Great videos Paul!

Superb night at Wolves Civic to see Anthrax Testament and Kreator, latter not my favourite but played well but Testament and Anthrax superb. Slightly truncated set due to Kreator getting more time as a sort of co headliner but absolute energy fest and a killer set and threw in the barmy Gung Ho at the very end . Everything hurts now lol

Glen Matlock and his band were excellent at the Underground last night. A mixture of his own songs, both solo and from bands he’s been in. Even had a couple of Pistols classics. Good support as well from Kathy Valentine from the Go Gos.

Bonny Light Horseman magnificent at Xoyo in Brum Thursday night. Sat next the band in pizza restaurant pre gig and chatted to Anais Mitchell 🥰. What a great little venue too.
Jason Isbell stupendous last night in Bristol. Some amazing guitar interplay 😳.
