As in easy to get there, easy free parking, decent venue Its not easy to get there though is it, one other thing I don't think there's a pub within walking distance. What, just off the D Road and I believe there's a bar there.

The chatterley is at the bottom of the bypass. That would be the closest other than that I think it’s all the way to tunstall or the travellers rest at the top of goldenhill

As pretzel has done, I think we need to use this post to advertise upcoming stuff which might have been missed from usual advertising avenues eg the Sentinel just to put it out there all the stuff which does happen at local venues, if there’s a discount for Oatcake members all the better! Have seen tribute acts as diverse as Coldplay, Cher, Lady GaGa, Amy Winehouse, The Jam etc etc locally and can honestly say I’d rather pay £5-£10 on the door and have a couple of drinks for under a tenner than travel to London/Manchester etc and get ripped off paying £50-£100 to stand 100 yards from the ‘real’ performer who you then attempt to watch on a screen, no brainer

Last night, baddeley green WMC. Tribute to Thr Jam ‘a band called malice’ quality 8/10 but performance, effort, showmanship and ability to create atmosphere 10/10 I would urge people to support venues such as this (and Jollees Stoke as well as Eleven near Goldenhill) as these clubs need all the support they can get. Unfortunately these gigs are not always superbly advertised, I’m sure there’s a lot of ex mods and punks locally as well as genuine Jam fans who wouldn’t even have realised this event was on? I saw The Wytches at Eleven on Thursday night - probably the best gig I've been to (of 20ish) since everything was cancelled. It was part of the National Lottery's "Revive Live" which I thought was a bit odd given The Wytches were never going to get close to filling a venue of Eleven's size in Stoke-on-Trent. Sadly, there were only about 30 people there, but I was delighted to see The Wytches locally, especially given they were so good. Support act Sit Down (nothing like a James tribute act) were very good too. The Wytches sounded not unlike Black Sabbath at times, and I see Sack Sabbath are coming up at Eleven in June. Eleven's PA was very good, so I'll probably check out Sack Sabbath. misterj There have been threads for mentioning upcoming gigs - one quite recently - but they never stick.

Yeh I started a thread which didn’t reach the second page. Now I’m single and looking for nights out it’s be a really useful addition if there people in the know about local gigs, which I’m sure there are

Perhaps ask Admin if we could have a permanent thread …… local gigs + events? I will try and start one with a few dates. If people will add to it sensibly and update it with gigs small or large in the area, it could be quite a useful resource. It'll either work or it'll turn to shit

If you're a music lover, do yourself a favour and get to Fulford village hall. I play guitar a little and I'm always gobsmacked at his playing. He's also a great songwriter and singer, and is a great entertainer in between songs. And Ian makes sure the village hall has a great atmosphere. Take your own booze and snacks too. Brilliant night. I guarantee you'll love it, if not Ian will give you your money back

Went to the Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek a couple of weeks back to see John Otway and Wild Willy Barret, seen Otway loads of times but the last time I saw him with WWB was about 30 years ago in Southsea. Great evening, very entertaining as usual, liked the venue too, I'll keep an eye on upcoming gigs for sure. foxloweartscentre.org.uk/whats-on-2/

Will wait for the liverpool derby finish then put it on. Never seen them, was a spaceman 3 fan after the fact and only heard spirtualized umpteen years down the line. The concert you can watch from Sydney opera house is unbelievable, if it reaches owt like that I’ll be happy and want see em again. Then it’s LCD (rub hands emoji)
