I'll be there myself. Cracking set list that. Glad they're doing Songs From the Wood, it's my mates favourite. He'll be right chuffed.

Wolf Alice the other night at The Sugarmill - the sound wasn't great, but I enjoyed hearing the new album in full.
Manics coming up this Friday.
Then "Story of Guitar Heroes" in Stafford, bdrmm, Rhythm of the 90s (an actual band who cover 90s dance classics who were great when I last saw them at The Sugarmill), Nerina Pallot, Mostly Autumn, The Offspring and Fugees. I'm considering The Australian Pink Floyd, Jon Gomm (a great acoustic guitarist), The Wytches, Bossk and a shoegaze all-dayer with 93millionmilesfromthesun.

Went down to London at the weekend for Richard Ashcroft ... What a voice that bloke has. Comfortably the best voice of all the front men from any of the top British bands.

Just had ticket for Doves tour in March 22 refunded cos Jimi the singer/bassist is struggling with mental health issues, very sad to hear and gutted as they're a great live band. Booked to see the Alarm on their 40th anniversary shows next year today

Saw Villagers a week or so ago in Bristol. Pleasant enough (damning with faint praise!) and they were very polished. Stayed close to the mixing desk with friends and out of the general hubhub.

Should have been the Black Pumas at the Albert Hall in Manchester but for the small matter of a bastard positive Covid test Booked the tickets almost 20 months ago and they postponed the gig last year due to lockdowns and travel restrictions to yesterday. Prior to that I just missed out getting tickets to see them at a small venue two years back.

Went to see Ross Noble at Crewe Lyceum last night. Absolutely hilarious. Never stopped laughing all night. Was laughing so much at one point I gave myself a headache! How he comes up with half the stuff amazes me. I know he's got a rough routine worked out and then goes off on tangents but his mind works so fast. His interaction with the audience is superb.

Dead Daisies Liverpool 02 last Sunday.
Glenn Hughes, the perfect example of a 30 year drug habit preserving your voice well into your late 60s. Astonishing the notes he can still reach by comparison to his contemporaries.
Nice SAHB cover.

The Snuts tomorrow at Keele university. Bravely abandoned a gig the other night in Oxford due to women at the gig being manhandled and groped . I went to this - not really my cup of tea but my mate is the promoter of the tour so I crogged in like the freeloading chancer that I am. Was surprisingly enjoyable and was great to see swathes of youngsters having a great time at Keele after the shitshow of the past two years or thereabouts. Not long back from watching Dutch anglophile fuzz-merchants Pip Blom at The Sugarmill - crowd was a bit sparse but the band put on the best performance from a Dutch national in Stoke since Peter Hoekstra bummed Reading single-handedly in 2003 👍

Every other gig they've done a couple on the encore. Toyed with going Pip Blom myself but decided to swerve, looks like a bad decision.

I'm selling two tickets for The Jesus And Mary Chain as I'm unable to attend.
It's at the Albert Hall in Manchester next Thursday.
DM me if you're interested. £50 for the pair.
