King King in a couple of weeks then Kris Barrass, Blackstone Cherry, Black Crowes, Inglorious, Blackwater Conspiracy, Aerosmith, Rival Sons and Ricky Warwick. I've just kept buying tickets. Treated it like some sort of live music savings account. I’m at the BSC & Kris Barras gig in a few weeks… how much did you pay for Aerosmith as I saw them on Ticketmaster for around £190!! Originally I was going Hollywood Vampires (Joe Perry, Alice Cooper & Johnny Depp) but it’s been cancelled. With all the booking charges etc £90 for aerosmith. It's worth it as Rival Sons are support, they're outstanding live. I've seen them start from a tiny 300 capacity venue and this will be the first arena show of theirs I've seen. Forgot to say I've got tickets for Halestorm too. As much as anything I wanted to try and support the smaller venues in some way through lockdown.

Nice… I would like to see Aerosmith do one last Festival show (maybe Download 2023) I’m off to see halestorm as well, I went to the Station in Cannock on Sunday to see Dirty DC which was ok for a night out. I been to eleven and like the smaller venues, KK Steel mill is pretty decent In Wolves, I saw Skindred there in Nov 19.

Robin 2 in Bilston and The Picturedrome in Holmfirth are great small venues. We need to look at the likes of those, Parr Hall and the Wolves Civic. We should easily match all of them for pull but as ever there appears a distinct lack of ambition around here.

Seeing Ricky Warwick in Wolves , he's cracking live Saw him and Damon do an acoustic set at Eleven, threw a few stories in too. Great night. He's been very active streaming gigs over lockdown. Black Star Riders are one of the loudest bands I've heard live.

Tour poster. Civic has been shut for ages due to a refurb and issues with asbestos I believe? Rock City is a good venue (saw Royal Blood there), I prefer the smaller venues to the arenas.

I heard it was in the pipe organ, if it's the bad stuff and friable they may have contaminated the entire venue. The budget increase tells you something isn't right. The ceiling at the Robin 2 always concerns me when you look at it, for the same reason. It's in good nick but asbestos has some sound insulating properties so could have been used. So long as it's encapsulated, checked and maintained there's not much you can do. Gorilla, Ruby lounge and the Deaf Institute in Manchester got done by lockdown. Foxlowe Arts in Leek is worth a look locally.

Black Star Riders are one of the loudest bands I've heard live. I had tix for RW and Damon at Bilston and one of kids was ill so missed it. Seen him do acoustic shows with a lot of tales before, excellent. Like.it loud but too much these days, loudest I ever saw was Mike Monroe at Kentish Town and Country Club in 80s , was loud enough for an arena show in a much smaller hall. Can see why I' deaf as a post now lol

Gorilla, Ruby lounge and the Deaf Institute in Manchester got done by lockdown Ruby Lounge closed down long before Covid appeared and whilst Gorilla and The Deaf Institute changed ownership during the first lockdown both are very much still open and are hosting gigs again.

Last one, was Gary Numan in Southampton pre covid. Next one is Elbow in Portsmouth, which keeps being rearranged due to covid. Might well go and see Duran Duran at the Isle of Wight festival in September.

My last proper gig was Slipknot Jan 20 at the NIA, also it was my lads first ever gig at 10 years old…
I know he’s not in the band anymore but RIP #1 Joey Jordison who died on 26.07.21, I was lucky to see slipknot in 08/09 (one of which was at Download) with all original members before the early passing of Paul Gray!

Indeed - I'm hopefully off to The Deaf Institute to see Ultrasound in a couple of weeks, a gig rescheduled from the previous ownership. Nice… I would like to see Aerosmith do one last Festival show (maybe Download 2023) I’m off to see halestorm as well, I went to the Station in Cannock on Sunday to see Dirty DC which was ok for a night out. We should easily match all of them for pull but as ever there appears a distinct lack of ambition around here. They're big venues to me! I do really like Robin 2 - I must have been to 20+ gigs there and the sound is usually spot on. I'm hoping to see Mostly Autumn there later this year. And I'm looking forward to not having to say "hoping to" at some point, given 2 gigs and a festival I was supposed to go to were cancelled recently. One of the gigs should've been tonight.

Last gig I can remember was Thurston Moore at the Sugarmill - very disappointing, pathetic half arsed "new direction", I swore I'd not go to see another big name on the way down. However ....Bob Mould is playing the mill in January - he wouldn't disappoint would he?
