Went to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd at Buxton last week. It was a bit of a funny one really as I mainly went along to see the support act, an American blues lass called Danielle Nicole who I adore. KWS was ok I guess, even though I only knew a handful of his songs.
Next up is one of our own shows, when we host scousers Pete Riley and his son's band Shamona at Fulford on December 1st

That singer has some voice, reminds me of a black guy called Malford Milligan. Will have to get them on Spotify and listen some more.

I really enjoyed Feeder (both nights) in Manc at the weekend. Coming up: Battle Beast (Finnish power-metallers who do a great cover of Push it to the Limit from Scarface/GTA) Glenn Hughes performing classic Deep Purple Then I have 4 in 4 nights, which I think will be a new record: Mostly Autumn (great Pink Floyd-esque prog-rock band with an occasionally Celtic sound) British Sea Power (just 3 members, sort of acoustic) AVA (piano/violin duo) Fabrizio Paterlini (Italian pianist, first time in the UK and recommended if you like Ludovico Einaudi) And another two a couple of days later: Nordic Giants (afternoon gig) Mono (awesome Japanese instrumental band) with an orchestra Which means I'll have seen the 3 bands I've seen live the most (BSP, Mostly Autumn and Feeder), all in the space of a month. Oh, and I'm thinking of going to that 90s thing in Manc, with Culture Beat, Ace of Base, 2Unlimited, Sash, Whigfield etc. That'll round off a rather varied month of gigs. I've never seen any such pop acts live, but have seen Rhythm of the 90s, an excellent 90s dance/pop covers band. Seen Mono a number of times squire, albeit not for a few years. Excellent every time. Always buy a t-shirt at a gig I've particularly enjoyed (maybe 3-4 a year) and I have 2 Mono t's - one of only 4 acts I have multiple shirts for (the others being Explosions In The Sky, The Dickies and Billy Bragg). Enjoy!
Don't ask how many British Sea Power shirts I have. I love the designs though!

Missed the Chemical Brothers at the MEN arena which is probably something I'll regret in time but I've saved myself an hangover and a hundred quid or so, I'll catch them next summer.
Current last gig is Lemar from Fame Academy at a Xmas lights switch on, if that counts. He was decent an all.
Next gig is Whitney, who are always great at the Albert Hall (Manc) on Thursday.

Same as when I saw them, knew one song, but a great band, backing singers incredible and the singer was very engaging, Iβd watch them again. shed 7 are a band I know nothing about but everyone on here thatβs seen them is more than enthused so Iβll look out for them in future at a festival perhaps

They are an anthem band, so if that's not really your cup of tea then you might struggle, but they are superb live and always put on a good show.

Primal Scream, Albert Hall, Manchester, just now.
Started off a bit 'meh' but then Bobby G found his voice and it only got better and better from there, culminating in The Scream Team wheeling Johnny Marr out for the encore of 'Come Together' and 'Rocks'.
Solid performance, would definitely buy again.

Think he had that singer when I saw him, he was PG to a tee.. we saw the Canadian band The Musical Box years ago and they were amazing, Genesis management had lent them some of the old stage sets. Will go see Hackett next time he plays, nice guy too - a friend had cancer and Stev wrote him a lovely letter and sent him some CDs too.

Get this, went to see The Glenn Miller Orchestra at York Barbican for the third time a couple of weeks ago.
Absolutely brilliant playing. The orchestra was put together Ray McVay who used to manage 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll shows for Larry Parnes. The orchestra is an exact copy of the original with superb musicians.
