Mark Hughes? He will not be the one giving these contracts out Maybe not but he’s the moron that scouted him for 45 minutes I don't think his footballing ability is really in question, it's a mental issue, which make it all the more disappointing as with the right guidance I think he could be a great player.

One of the greatest talents Stoke have got for decades. Unfortunately he only showed it in a couple of matches or so ... Hopefully he succeeds in Rayo Vallecano. I'm not sure I'd go that far musik. He undoubtedly looks good driving forwards with his long stride pattern, but he has some fundamental flaws in his game which I don't see will ever go away. For example he is entirely one footed, he has little spatial awareness, he can't tackle, he rarely sees a pass and he is weak in the air. On top of that he is lacking some of the soft skills such as building rapport with his team mates and he does not appear willing to die for the cause. I'm sure lots of the world's top players are lacking in one or two of those departments but Imbula seems to have almost everything off the menu!

Apart from a couple of highlights I’ve seen nothing to suggest you’re correct with that statement

he is either very clever or very stupid - either way he's a lazy waste of space earning mega bucks and made for life. Maybe not. “A fool and his money are soon parted” - stuff my dad said.

I don't suppose there's any mention of a fee or who is paying his wages. I'd imagine we put a do not disclose clause in the contract because it would be bloody embarrassing to publicise that there is no loan fee (so his sojourn costs us £4m in asset Depreciation) and we are probably paying 3/4 of his wages, so another £4.5m. There literally is no consequences to failure for the player or the idiots who sanctioned his signing without proper diligence on the player

When we got him at first, I actually though he was our replacement for N'zonzi.
But he had no commitment to the club and once again another waste of money

Yeah I messed up the calc, but here's an attempt to justify it 52 weeks at £60k is £3m. Plus employers NI (12%), assume he's got a nice pension, shit the only way I'm getting to 4.5m is if the £60k is net... Let's just call it 2.5m cost for wages
