I think he might be a decent player, but a goalscorer? Not sure.

Nobody is saying that he is the answer, but he is a Stoke City player and as one of us surely we should get behind him instead of knocking him every week ffs. Just a thought. Some of the comments on here are hilariously crass. Constantly slating Berahino is easy. But completely destructive. We know there's a goalscorer in there somewhere. The question is How do you bring it out? That's the difficult bit. He's young with time on his side and I'm convinced that he will come good for us. But FFS let's stop crucifying him. I dont get all these posters that want to mother him and treat him with kid gloves. Hes a pro-footballer earning millions a year and was bought to score goals for Stoke City. He hasnt done it so far and there are no signs that is going to change any time soon. Im pretty much convinced hes a busted flush that had 1 purple patch in his career that last 1 season out of the 4 seasons he has had in the top flight. I dont WANT to write-off a player that costs 12M spondoolicks but we have important games coming up and we need a striker who can hit the back of the net rather than giving Berahino playing time to "boost his confidence" the poor soul.

I would love to be proven wrong but he doesnt look like a Premier League player to me

Despite Berahino not having the presence of Choupo-Moting, anybody at that game saturday knew that berahino needed to come on and play up top. He gives us much more of a presence and can hold the ball up well for a fairly small bloke. Thought it was a goal when Shaq put him through towards the end, but good keeping from Gomes. How a corner wasnt given i dont know.
Choupo is only effective from the wing, and Berahino should start up to against leicester for me. Or even crouch, we should approach this game like watford, they are very similar teams who rely on pace and counter attacks, sit in and they wont break us down.

Don't EVER want any Stoke player to fail. On current form he shouldn't start, a striker needs to score goals something he'd patently unable to do at the moment. So we've had: - he needs to get fit - he needs game times - he needs the service - he needs one to open the floodgates. How long more should we wait? Not a big fan of Diouf up front but he's currently a better option than Bera You forgot 'needs confidence'. As someone that's defended him fairly staunchly, I have to agree. I'm all out of excuses now. An accomplished striker would have buried that chance on Saturday. Still think he'll come good but he won't be our 15-20 a season savior.

Hughes chased him for 18 months to be his answer to our goal scoring problems, he has failed to score since last January to make it worse we sold a better striker we already owned for peanuts and play another at Right wing back, he need shipping out as soon as possible he has had his chance.

Do we really look any better when he's not starting though? I think that's the question. Maybe if Diouf starts up front but apart from that, I can't see a better option.

We see things very differently, I think he is a more natural finisher than choupo or diouf, Really don't think he hides, made the goal v arsenal, got in good positions against Bournemouth but the forward passes didn't arrive instead they went sideways, got in great position v Watford and yes missed his chance, again put a great ball through for Charlie v Watford. So you think we should of kept 34 yr old Walters who incidentally is out injured for months, How many chances has diouf missed in his time at stoke he needs 4 chances for every goal he scores, Choupo has started 9 premier games scoring two goals (in one game) keeping up his career stats of 1 goal every 5 games. Yeah your right let's bin the young striker who I say again is our most natural finisher and play who exactly better, We clearly see things differently, try watching a players off the ball movement and the space they make for themselves and not just watch the ball,

Walters has been injured almost since he went to Burnley, so would not have been the answer, and it's the same knee injury he got at Stoke!

Back when I became a Stoke fan, the season before the Holocaust, it was always the tradition that we got behind our own players and supported them through thick and thin....and in the holocaust season there was a lot of "thin", believe me.
Back then we reserved this kind of ire for the opposition, whose players were always thick useless unskilled tossers unfit to grace a football pitch.

Can we afford persisting with him as a starter though? Yes. He's definitely got the movement to come good. Like how he's always on the shoulder of the last defender. Hughes said when he signed that the other players will have to get used to his movement and what ball he likes. Shaq produced exactly that at Watford. It will come good.
