Everyone has seen the footage from the day the volume of fans arriving late caused the police to panic and open the gates, there is no doubt some did not have tickets as Liverpool fans had used the same tactics home and abroad on many occasions,as did many fans in those days, sadly all the victims had tickets their only "mistake" was to get in ground early only to be let down by the poor organisation and general panic on the day, their is no evidence required to support that which we have all seen time and time again Spot on mate. We don't allow the truth anymore on The Oatcake. We have to toe the official line nowadays. Going back 40 years the house that I grew up in on Butler Street that backed onto the old Stoke End. Every time we played Liverpool or Everton hundreds & hundreds of their supporters used to climb over and get in without paying. NO OTHER CLUB did this. We used to say then that sooner or later somebody would get crushed. Then along came Hillsborough & HEYSEL. Nothing to do with Liverpool fans was it? Now sit back and watch the conditioned response. ??? Ironic that you went with the line "we dont allow the truth".

Can I please ask - Where is your evidence that the fans did contribute to what happened? Or are you still going off the original statements? Everyone has seen the footage from the day the volume of fans arriving late caused the police to panic and open the gates, there is no doubt some did not have tickets as Liverpool fans had used the same tactics home and abroad on many occasions,as did many fans in those days, sadly all the victims had tickets their only "mistake" was to get in ground early only to be let down by the poor organisation and general panic on the day, their is no evidence required to support that which we have all seen time and time again "There is no doubt" - is there any evidence? This is the problem with opinion pieces being published in newspapers for me. I have no issue debating things on a message board because we can have a back and forth and put points across. That's fine. However when it's published in a national newspaper there is very little debate - he said it, people complain, he doesn't defend himself. It's right they've suspended him because opinions aren't always correct and sometimes people nee to face consequences for their actions. But at the end of the day he's still been able to get away with saying this shit, again.

But at the end of the day he's still been able to get away with saying this shit, again. I'm not sure that, even if some Liverpool fans did not have tickets, that it has any relevance to the tragedy. The fact is that even after the police opened the gates and fans flooded into the central pens at the Leppings Lane End, THERE WAS STILL AMPLE SPACE IN PENS ON THE OUTER WINGS OF THAT END. The problem was not that the end was filled to a dangerous capacity but that when the gates were opened the central tunnel was left open (massive error by the police) resulting in gross overcrowding in the central pens and ample space in the pens closest to the outer sides of the pitch.Had the central tunnel not been left open, the fans flooding in would have been forced to use the side pens and, whilst the end would have been crowded by modern standards it would not have been fatally over crowded.

the sun knew exactly what they were doing
they let the most inflammatory 'journalist' write this piece
they published it the day before a very significant date for the city
a piece like this has to be sub edited, then go through a whole editorial process
the picture of the Barkley used was to belittle him him in the name of amusement (add a picture and art desk to the proceedings of how many people are involved in publishing one editorial piece)
they have clearly lied about knowing his family of being of Nigerian origin (see tweet)
the organisation is an extremely nasty piece of work that should be shut down
they can be no defending anything they publish, it was all calculated for maximum effect

All tabloids try to over simplify any situattion and find 1 person to be held accountable. Sadly life is far more complex than this but peole don't want to read pages of well written unbiased observation they want to form an angry mob and burn the witch. The coverage of Hillsborough by the Sun was unforgivable and dispicable in equal measure but people still buy it and feel informed from reading it!!!!!

Breaking news that Everton have now banned the sun Credit to EFC. really joe? It took Liverpool nearly 28 years to ban the sun and Everton only a few weeks later. I don't buy the rag but for as much as the city right fully hate that paper it's taken a long time for the clubs to ban it

Hardly arriving late. As previously stated on this thread, at no stage was there too many people on the Leppings Lane terrace. If anyone without tickets turned up it wasn't decisive in the disaster. Anyway, ticketless people turn up for all big events. It shouldn't be that much of a problem.
