Just had Keele University's American politics expert on Radio Stoke, I haven't read much about these latest charges, but listening to that bloke one of the things they're after him for is misuse of funds.
He allegedly used funds acquired from supporters for supposedly political purposes as a hush money payment to somebody he'd had 'relations' with.
I wonder if 'big Nige' pitched in a few quid ๐

If you drive around here in Virginia outside of the bigger cities like Charlottesville and Richmond, you see a lot of that crap as well, especially in rural areas. His candidates in the midterms still benefitted from that Trump base and letโs face it, Iโm not talking about some sort of ridiculous sustained assault on democracy, Iโm more concerned with large scale riots. |

Given how political Trump and the Republicans have made this, I can't see how any jury will end up with a big enough majority for a guilty verdict. However, I didn't think that the grand jury would have enough of a majority to indict him so we may be surprised at the end of the trial. One thing Trump and his antics have done is show what a mistake the Americans made when they allowed politicians to be so blatantly political when appointing judges and other legal officials at Federal and local level. If the result of trials is supposed to be based on the law then politics should have no place in making appointments of officials. Our system is far from perfect but it looks streets ahead of the US system when it comes to the chances of conducting a fair trial. |

We have a real global problem with young naive men glorifying and celebrating self serving tyrans.

Its very worrying indeed. Especially considering alot of the fan boys tend to be working class people that get oppressed by the very men they celebrate.
Critical thinking isn't a thing for many anymore. Buzz words and finding a common enemy to blame, but never the wealthy dictators, seems to be the soup of the day.

He paid her the money to stop her going public right at the end of his campaign, it would have killed him at the ballot box if her story had got out. His lawyer who paid her the money, was then jailed for violating federal campaign finance law because of the payments. Trump then preceded to report that both the money he had given to Daniels ($130,000) and the money he had given to his lawyer ($420,000) as expenses, for tax purposes. |

The pursuit of Trump sounded incredibly complicated with many facets and a political side to it. Nixon and Bill Clinton were also mentioned making the point that pursuing ex presidents was a pursuit that the country should probably best avoid and had deliberately avoided in the past. |
