Things you also love to see. Super Ron will be US president and as such, the most powerful and influential nation in the West will be run by an out and out right wing libertarian. Incredibly exciting. The only question is, how heavily will he defeat creepy Joe and Co?

I don't know why the left struggle to accept the idea that everyone has their time. Appreciate the left loves authoritarian regimes that last decades but most ordinary people don't want that. Trump served his 5 years and on balance it was a successful period for the US. He made some unpresidential comments and it cost him dearly. Since losing the election (rightly or wrongly), he's followed Tony Blair's footsteps in not being able to let go. Time to make way for the DeSantis empire. Exciting times ahead. Get ready for all out war on woke 😉

I love how the left are trying to create a debate out of that theory. In any government, business, sports team or walk of life, if there are better people ahead of you in your team for the job, make way and know when your time is up. Trump will be 80. That is not what the US needs. We've all seen what a disaster the Biden regime has been with an 80 year old at the top. That said, Trump served a huge purpose. He was the beginning of what we're going to see under DeSantis and the left are incredibly nervous about it.

Blair has been angling for a return to politics for years. Unfortunately there isn't a vacant spot for a war criminal who left the country in dissaray. Is there a day goes by when Blair (or Major for that matter) don't offer their opinion? British people don't want to hear Tony Blair's opinion and they certainly don't want him in his once self-proposed EU "savior" role 😂 Anyway, back to the point - Trump is an irrelevance in the next election. DeSantis is going to be US President.

I remember him resurfacing ahead of the EU Referendum and at the time thinking how long it had been since I'd seen him give an interview. In terms of how they left office, they have fuck all in common.

My definition of Fickle is being indifferent towards a Man you previously worshipped going to Goal Being better than Trump is an extremely Low Bar There are two years to the Election, plenty of time for either Candidate to mess up. The Bookies have shortened the ODDS to 2/1 Ronny 3/1 Joe Far too early to count 🐔 🐔 🐔

The part that surprised me most was that the Republicans are current odds-on favourite (1.78) to win the next election but rank outsiders (4.9) to get the most votes. I hear your ‘War on Woke’ sloganeering, but what does that actually mean? (The second question was rhetorical) Perhaps he has exciting plans for healthcare? Abortion? Firearms? Is the USA not sufficiently right-leaning as it is? There isn’t much of a ‘left’ as we understand it, at least not with much influence in mainstream politics outside of California. On a scale of ‘Bolsanaro’ to ‘1930s Germany’, how much further to the right would you say the US needs to move?

*He says as he stares down the barrel of the worst economical crash of his lifetime... Small point but it's economic, not economical as you keep saying. Definition of economical as taken from the Cambridge online dictionary: " giving good value or return in relation to the money, time, or effort expended ie the opposite of SCFCBiancorossi's contributions to the Oatcake".

I mean, I'm kind of flattered that you hold my opinion in such high regard....perhaps even more so than the notoriously tedious redwhitenblue who even chases me for responses in the early hours. There you go mate, knock yourself out with the below link. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_DeSantis#:~:text=During%20the%20COVID%2D19%20pandemic,from%20requiring%20proof%20of%20vaccination. I don't see how you can say the US is "right leaning". Its so divided and vast ranging politically from left leaning areas like Cali and Vermont to areas in the deep South like South Carolina and parts of Georgia. Your immediate association of right wing politics to Nazi Germany are the kind of lazy comparisons a 12 year old would make or indeed certain posters referenced above. Come on mate, you're more reasoned than that surely. Enjoy reading the Political Positions of Ron DeSantis. I'll pre-order you his new book for Christmas if you like 😉

Are you saying you were opposed to Americas war with Iraq lead by Republican Bush. And that you support Democrat Biden in removing troops, and ongoing blood, from Iraq?

Our parliamentary system operates a (predominately) unitary state with a fused executive and legislature. Their presidential system separates the executive, legislature and judiciary and then divides it between the central and state government (federal state). Throw in the electoral college, separate election cycles for Senate, HoR and President, a written constitution that's 350 years old and it's enough to make you scream 😱.
