I see Trump is tearing into De Sanctis with his usual bile His assault on DeSantis is disgusting and shows just how real it is becoming that Super Ron could be the next US President. He's the most exciting presidential candidate of our lifetime. Calm, measured, intelligent, sensible, eloquent, honest and a genuine leader - The world will be a far better place with a DeSantis victory. But don’t say gay.

I see Donald has gone to his trusted fall back position, electoral fraud.
Unfortunately, for him at least, it seems the voters don't agree.
I wonder if they and his party will turn against him now in droves, especially if Desantis or another Republican candidate comes to the fore?
An emperors new clothes scenario, perhaps, as with our own poundland Trump.

It's over. He's finished. He won't realise that though He'll run and will be poisonous towards the other Republican runners If Biden is sensible and doesn't run Democrats just need a bland 'safe pair of hands' candidate and Trumps shenanigans will hand the Democrats victory

I've lost count of how many times I've written Trump off. Trump started out as a Republican then joined Reform Party, next he became a Democrat before becoming a Republican again briefly before becoming an Independent then finally a Republican There is a common theme, Trump only has an allegiance to what's good for Trump and thankfully a large majority of US people have got fed up of the Psycho Drama that follows him around. Obviously he will remain on the fringes for a while primarily to try and keep himself out of gaol and will be supported by his vociferous knuckle dragging devotees At present Trump is the biggest asset to the Democrats

Wasn't today the day for Combover's big announcement?
Still early in the States of course, so maybe he's timing it for the evening news bulletins?

In a lacklustre speech Trump announces his Candidacy for 2024 Presidency in a desperate attempt to stave off Criminal and Financial Investigations
Naturally his Teleprompter Speech was littered with provable lies and laughable false claims too many to itemise
There isn't a cat in halls chance he has the stamina or momentum to continue his campaign for any length of time given his other distractions
Additionally the RNC have told him that if he announced his Presidency they would no longer bankroll his Legal Bills which presents him with another problem
Popcorn Time

I bet the Republican party was desperate for him not to run as it gives them as a whole and people like Desantis a massive problem.

Big mouth moron with an enormous ego. Bizarrely his supporters seem to support his ranting and raving like a complete lunatic having convinced them he's some sort of outsider on a mission to 'drain the swamp' despite doing nothing of the sort during his presidency.
If somehow Trump wins the Republican nomination, I'd fancy his chances against Biden though who is clearly senile - he needs putting out to pasture with a fresh face brought in.

Will this DeSantis bloke fancy the personal abuse that Trump will serve up? The Donald didn't seem to mind going gloves off with his own party last time.

Trumps already suggesting he will reveal personal details if Desantis stands - tantamount to blackmail. Hopefully Desantis can fight fire with fire, it'll get messy, and hopefully whoever the democrats put up will stuff them.

If he wins the nomination, Trump won't win the next election. He's Yesterday's Man and most of the electorate have worked him out. He'll still have his cult followers but the recent Mid-Terms have brought some sanity to the US voters and those cult followers are becoming ever-decreasing in numbers. Also, because the Republicans will win the House, the issue of abortion will still be on the agenda. Add to that another two years to level out the current fuel crisis and the war in Ukraine and the world should be getting back to some sort of normality by 2024. And not let's forget the legal stuff that's hitting Trump now. That can only be good for the Democrats. The one downside to the Democrats will be the state of Biden's health in two years. They need to come up with a candidate who is younger but who also has enough presence to be bankrolled through the election. At the moment I can't see one, so they'd better start sorting it now.
OS.

It does go to show that Trump simply cannot accept his time has come and is resorting to total desperation which is a shame...He needs to go gracefully but that won't happen. There is also another scenario that could unfold whereby Trump goes independent and splits the vote - Not out of the question.

But there is going to be 5 or 6 runners for the nomination and in that situation, the vote is very likely to split and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Trump will actually make it, with (say) 30% of the vote. I don't think the Republicans would then stand a chance, regardless who is leading the Democrats. You are right, they'd be insane to choose Trump but many of them are certainly going to do so.

Trump's primary motivation is not the Republican party, or even the presidency - but staying out of jail - which being presidential candidate will afford him some protection against. He'll fight tooth and nail to secure that. Expect it to be dirty. Really, really dirty.
