Can any of our trump sympathisers explain what he actually did while President that was good and wouldn't have been done by anyone else who was there? Like "he didn't shit himself on stage" or "he signed bipartisan laws" are not a special Trump thing, anyone would have done it. What laws or deals did he actually do and push for that wouldn't have happened anyway, and how and why were they good? The only thing I can think of is arguably tariffs on China. I read quite a few laws and federal commission decisions but it sounds like I missed really obvious stuff based on his support? I saw a video where a young journalist had a debate with 20 Maga loons, he sat in the middle and they sat opposite him one at a time. He asked them to name one thing Trump did when in power that benefited the working and middle class of their country more than it did the richest 1%. Not a single answer.

Yes a modern day Emperor's New Clothes. I linked a couple of articles from the New York Times a few months back demonstrating exactly the same thing, which used very similar research. The idea that he has been a successful businessman is a complete myth but it's amazing how many people (including several on this forum) still believe it to be true. It's like he has managed to weave this huge spell of bullshit and they simply aren't able to break free from it. It could very possibly be (outside of organised religion) one of the biggest cults the world has ever seen.

I’m not disputing that he often says daft things but he never actually advocated drinking bleach to cure covid! He said inject a disinfectant and then a reporter asked him if they should use bleach (obviously trying to goad him into saying yes) Trump replied by saying no, only to clean the area where covid is detected. By “disinfectant” he just meant a vaccine to kill the infection, it’s just the way he talks. Yes. Because he's a fucking moron. The very worst sort of moron. So moronic that he has no understanding whatsoever of just how moronic he is.

He reaches the wrong conclusion and expresses it unintelligently, but he's not a million miles away from a sensible point. If you have two children and a third is a serious possibility, you're going to give mind to how you actually lug them all around from place to place. If you're conscientious (and can afford it), you'll want to do this properly and safely with all isofix car seats and so on. Isofix is fantastic. The problem is car manufacturers. It seems to me that all manufacturers are focusing on building silly SUV things that are no better as a family car than a supermini from a decade ago. Even the seven seaters will typically have two isofix points on the outer seats of the middle row and maybe top tethers on the other seats if you're lucky. If you want a car that can fit three, you're realistically looking at an oversized and expensive-to-buy-and-run MPV, at a time when MPVs also seem to be less prevalent. He's arrived at entirely the wrong conclusion, but it is an actual issue.

And besides, I'm pretty sure the cost of child care will actualky be much further up the agenda for wannabee parents.

This article tells you the good and bad in a balanced way in my opinion. But what did he do? The US system is tricky to understand and a lot of people think the president has near-infinite power, but there are many things he can't control. I don't think we should credit or blame presidents for things that would have happened anyway or been done by anyone. Do you blame Trump for Covid beginning? It happened on his watch, but I don't blame him. I went through the first 50 things on that list and most of it was just stuff that was going to happen anyway.

An example of the sort of thing I mean... "47. Trump appointed 5 openly gay ambassadors." Ok, cool, but is that a major success for Trump? George W. Bush appointed Michael Guest and Mark Dybul so Republicans already did it. Obama (10) and Biden (7) both appointed more. So... is that a big success for Trump? If it is, then did Obama and Biden have bigger successes? So Trump is worse? For me it's neither here nor there. The way I'd look at it: Trump, Obama and Biden are basically pretty similar on the topic of appointing gay ambassadors.

Just another day in MAGAland. Roseanne Barr is reported to have dissociative-identity disorder and other mental issues, so I'm sure Carlson wasn't intending to exploit this at all...
Meanwhile, Trump proves that he can indeed go lower.
Seriously, if I ever find myself not utterly contemptuous of this effluent incarnate, I'll drive up to the Wirral peninsula or somewhere similar, park my car and walk into the fucking sea.

There are some leaked emails saying that the polling organisation Rasmussen was secretly working with the Trump team. This site says the Trump campaign was likely breaking election law. I don't understand how the campaign are breaking the law, it sounds more like it's the Heartland Institute. They're a bunch of liars, yes, but they're not legally the same thing as the Trump campaign.

Too stupid to even realise just how stupid he actually is ... I wouldn't rule out a Media Organization like say GBeebies conducting a Social Engineering experiment to have a Numpty like Jenrick elected as the next PM. I only use Jenrick as an example among the current candidates but it would be more likely be a currently unheard of candidate with no history of achievement or intelligence both of which would be an Asset.

If there's enough deluded and ignorant people to vote him back in, we may as well all do the same. I'm leaving the UK for solo trip to Portugal on Election day - November the 5th, my wife is very pleased about this because she knows if Trump wins I'll be impossible to live with.
