He's completely unhinged! The Duke of Marlborough also owes him big-time for facilitating his victory at the Battle of Blenheim. Seriously, anyone else and I'd have dismissed it instantly as a crude attempt at satire.

![](https://i.ibb.co/0GvrhDT/Manufacturing-Construction.png) Thanks to the Democrats and Biden's bills on Infrastructure, CHIPS and the Inflation Reduction Act, US manufacturing investment has gone haywire. Tbh I think Trump played the smarter political game by not working to boost manufacturing. It'll take years for these factories to come online and really show the surge in productivity and jobs. Biden won't get any credit unless he's reelected, so it seems more likely Trump will just ride in and pretend he had something to do with it like the economy he inherited in 2017.

He's completely unhinged! Taylor Swift has earned so much money because she’s an excellent singer songwriter. While I’m not the biggest fan of her pop music, her country music was excellent. Her fighting for ownership of her music and then re-releasing her early albums as an older women has proved to be an incredible business decision. All three bills in that acts had bipartisan support. Trump simply signed them. He had little to do with anything.

Trump is what you end up with if you have such a terribly undemocratic electoral system as in the States. He is scum. If he thought he could get away with it, he would be invading countries like Putin. 100% 👍 Trump gets one thing right though at least. American politics and world politics in general for that matter is a swamp. Full of unjustified millionaires like Biden and Pelosi. And plenty of republicans too. What he doesn't say however is that his vision of how it should be will be just as bad or likely worse. The now cliche saying of......trump is the symptom not the disease, is bang on in my opinion. He’s just endorsed his daughter-in-law to co-chair the RNC. There’s little more swampish than trying to develop yet another political dynasty.

@realdonaldtrump
Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure. You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well. Our Country is PROUD OF YOU!
The fucking ingnoramus.
This was from 2020, BTW.

A stopped Clock is correct twice a day Railing against the insanity doesn't change the reality, that Trump is likely to be the next President of the US and all that entails for Friend or Foe alike. The World is more actively volatile now than it has been in the last 75 years. Conflicts in relatively small Countries Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Hamas have huge repercussions in the World Order Financially and Geopolitically 20 of 31 NATO Countries do not fulfil the commitment to NATO of spending 2% of GDP on Defence including Germany, France and Italy 3 of the G7 Some posts today on different threads suggest that UK Government/Politics should confine to Domestic issues, that is naive, but possibly a reflection of what influence UK has now or going forward In other events taking place in the World, besides Trumps likely Election China the 2nd Largest Economy in the World is facing a major Economic downturn. Socially this is very bad news because Youth Unemployment is so high partially responsible for the Bankrupcy of the biggest Property Company in the World Evergrande meaning young people can't afford to buy a house. In the one child policy this upsets the Social Order of the Younger Generation looking after the Older. These Domestic problems are unlikely to greatly upset Western Countries but it will mean the Chinese Consumers will no longer be buying Apple Phones, Volkswagon Cars or Burberry Coats and demand for Western Materials to grow the Economy will be limited Indonesia projected to be the 6th largest Economy in the World by 2026, ironically accelerated to overtake Russia due to Russia's War. It has the World's largest Muslim Population, it is the 3rd largest, allegedly, Democracy in the World, it has the 4th Largest Population in the World. For the last 10 years the Economy has prospered after the Suharto Dictatorship. The most expected Candidate to win the current Presidential Election Prabowo favours the old Military approach. Pakistan, another Democracy apparently, with the 5th largest population in the World economically is a Basket Case. 40% of the Population live in poverty using the $3 per day measure. It also happens to be a Neuclear Power. We have seen the current disputed Elections where the previously jailed exPM Sharif is claiming victory over the currently jailed exPM Imran Khan. Pakistans closest allay is China but despite certain differences is also close allay to Iran depending on who is in control India, another Neuclear Power and the most populous Country in the World claims to be the largest Democracy in the World. That might be true if you discount the 20% non Hindu Population So we have the proposition by the end of 2024 some of the largest and most populous Countries in the World will be governed by psedo or actual Dictators Trump: Xi: Prabowo: Sharif: Modi: Putin: Netanyahu: Khamenei, there are others I could mention The only glimmer is that all of the above are into their seventies and with any luck might Fuck Off soon. Who are the replacements waiting in line?

Republicans in Arizona have stated their intent to end presidential elections and automatically give the state's delegates to Trump. We're seeing the future if trump and republicans do well in the next election. The Party and The Supreme Leader will rule, no matter what the people want. I wonder if the Trump fans on here think it's time to throw the towel in on democracy and follow the example shown by Russia, North Korea and China.

I didn't see at the time but last month Trump's legal team said it should be legal for him to order the military to kill his political rivals or sell pardons to criminals, and the courts can't stop him. It really looks like the republicans are pushing hard for dictatorship in the US. American voters look like giving up the power of their vote forever, seems a bit strange to me. Link.

The republicans say that Congress could convict him. Right, you've just seen him murder a political opponent and get away with it. Are you gonna make yourself one of his political opponents by talking about convicting him? I think the republican plan is longer term, Trump won't be killing opponents until he feels he can get away with it and really needs to.

The Rule of Law is that no one is above the law. That Trump thinks this shouldn’t apply to him highlights how little he cares about the foundations of US democracy. MAGA court in Alabama rules that embryos are people so IFV clinics are shutting down. The Alabama Chief Justice wrote; " (1) God made every person in His image; (2) each person therefore has a value that far exceeds the ability of human beings to calculate; and (3) human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself," It's a state court but republicans are trying to do this federally. Trump might install enough judges to ban the pill, overthrow gay rights, or execute doctors who perform abortions.

This issue is actually a vote winner for the Democrats - the Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot with this issue.

Well, IVF clinics like those at the UoB aren’t really shutting down yet, but they have stopped implantation. People can still go and get an egg retrieval. Though, they may never be able to implant it (yet still have to pay for its storage). It’s a shocking decision. The idea that laws should be made by “God’s will” in a country that openly professes clear separation of church and state is moronic. Having just gone through IVF and having embryos still in storage, I feel for those in Alabama.

Some of those who were angry about having women's basic rights stripped away will have been watching fox news and will now be angry about immigrants or trans people or something. There will obviously be some who pay attention longer term but I'm not sure if there are enough of those to save US democracy.

The Republicans looked odds on to win both the Senate and House of Representatives and they didn't - Trumps support of the religious right backfired massively on the Republican Party and more decisions like this one is going to do the same at the Presidential election. This is going to do Trump no favours. Thankfully.

A lot has gone on in Eastern Europe (in particular) since the end of WW2. Is it more unstable now than it was during the Cold War? I do think that the world is at an interesting tipping point. China has spent decades increasing their economy and investing heavily in foreign infrastructure, particularly in Africa. Its global influence is ever growing. I do expect them to become the world authority in years to come and I can definitely see Trump’s hyper-nationalistic only accelerating that switch. I personally don’t foresee any stopping them though. They play the long game.
