Verlinden won't be playing which is annoying.
He'll be with the Belgian U19s.

I don't recall being asked about our entry to this competition. I do however like to watch our academy side regardless of who we play. I never go to a game to support the competition I go to watch the club.

Not ideal but plenty of pace and interchangeability.

D''oh of course he will. I'd go with Telford and N'goy wide as well and Taylor at lb because you'd argue the only route to the first team for all of them is in those positions. While we have Crouch, Walters and Diouf in the squad I can't see N goy getting a go ahead of them if Bony is out. You'd could see him playing a wide right of a front 3 though as that position isn't nailed on for anyone other than Shaq.

Verlinden won't be playing which is annoying. He'll be with the Belgian U19s. yeah such a shame that a promising youngster is getting the opportunity to start making waves on the international scene instead of playing against morecambe b team in a useless competition in front of 1,000 people

If you go, you're whats wrong with the modern football fan. What a supporter of the club? Bizarre post. It's not bizarre at all. I've been a home and away fan for well over half a century and I'm not going for the reasons I explained in full on the other thread. Sometimes you have to look beyond the short term interests of your own club.

Still unfair to criticise the 'modern fan' as someone stated though we do not decide what competitions we partake in, Blame the club(s) not the fans who wish to attend.
Fair enough as you have in the other thread debated whether we should actually be in it, but it is 100% bizarre that any fans should be criticised for attending when fans had no say. by all means people can choose not to go but those shouldn't call out others as wrong for going

My main fire is really directed not at fans but at the FL clubs for agreeing to this in the way that they did, and the lack of any consultation, and the contradictory arguments behind it. But if I've persuaded anyone who might have gone to Morecambe not to go, it's been worth it.

In terms of getting ready for English football and ready for us the game in Morecambe is far better. And it will be against at least 6 (I think ) of the their team that started at the weekend. So not quite their B team.

Here comes the dick swinging. People don't care for it but care enough to moan on every thread about it. Fuck off. People may not care for the competition, but that doesn't mean that they can't show their discontent - especially considering the significant backlash that this years competition is receiving from all quarters. It's a forum where people can debate and share their views. Get used to it!

Sometimes you have to look beyond the short term interests of your own club. Personally don't think it warrants being called everything wrong with the modern fan though Malcolm. I personally don't have an issue if people don't like the idea but why resort to that. I think it's an okay idea and well worth the experiment our youth football is suffering and has for decades I've not resorted to calling people football dinosaurs if they disagree.
