Seeing as the world and his wife seem to be signing for either the U-18's or U-21's it seems like a good time to start this thread again! I will update the squad lists when we know just who is going to be either squad but so far I think the squads will look like this (it's not including any rumoured players so far). GK - Chris Marquess GK - Tommy Dyche RB - Tom Edwards DF - Luis Silva DF - Kosovar SadikiDF - Josh Williams DF - Toby Wells DF - Harvey ReadDF/MF/FW - Theo Brierley DF/MF - Liam Smith MF - Daniel Jarvis MF - Freddy Yao MF - Jake Dunwoody WG - Thibaud Verlinden FW - Shola AyoolaFW - Thomas Shepherd FW - Julien Ngoy 1st Years2nd Years Under 21'sGK-Dale Eve GK-Dom Kurasik GK-Daniel Gyollai RB/CB-Lewis Banks RB/CM-Johnville Renee-Pringle LB-Ben Barber LB-Bobby Moseley CB-Edward Dryden CB-Ryan O'Reilly CB-Mason Watkins-Clark CB-Liam Edwards LW/RW-Moha LB/LW-Joel Taylor DM-Eddy Lecygne DM-Sergio Molina CM-Mark Waddington CM-Ollie Roberts AMC-Oliver Shenton (eligible for the U-18's too) ST-Peter Skapetis ST-George Waring ST-Dom Telford This is obviously going to be expanded in the next few days. It looks like it might be quite an exciting time for both of these sides, the U-18's have the spine of a side that won the second half of their season league and the Generation Adidas Cup and the tournament in Germany earlier this summer. So they know how to win. And the U-21's seem to have some genuine quality coming into the ranks. oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/232244/stoke-city-academy-development-thread

Who's the bloke on the left with a stripey tie, looks like he has swallowed a torch.

Not seen any sign of Kyren Hamilton since early last season. Don't know where he went

Sentinel has an article on the first-year U18s
*Harvey Read (CB) Signed from Southampton. Old-fashioned defender described as potentially Shawcross-esque *Tom Dyche (GK) From Tamworth. Been at Stoke since U10s. Recently part of Eng u15s and u16s *Shola Ayoola (STR) From Ireland. Signed from Cherry Orchard. Strong, quick striker who loves to run in behind and has physical presence to trouble defenders *Tom Edwards (RB) From Stafford. Been at Stoke since u9s. Utility player capable of slotting into various areas, but mainly right-back *Jake Dunwoody (CM) Midfielder arriving from Man City. Described as intelligent player with good range of passing *Thibaud Verlinden (WING) Belgian youth international signed from Standard Liege. 2-footed, can play on either wing and likes to get defenders one-on-one.

They only mention those 6 - and there's a big picture....of just those 6! How many first-years are there normally? Maybe we're entering a 6-a-side league?

It does depend but I've got 10 named above so that makes a squad of 16..... And that includes 2 goalkeepers and N'Goy who should imo be playing most of his football for the U-21's this season. And Danny Jarvis who when I watched him near the end of last season for the U-21's impressed me massively, he's one of the youngest 2nd years too. There's that Canadian/Albania centre back too but I'm not sure if he can play yet. There must be a few more expected to sign too, they want to take 20 to Hungary. EDIT-I've counted Tommy Dyche twice, so it's actually a squad of 15 with 2 goalies.

I don't know if it was just a purple patch or he's really that good but he really impressed me in the back of last season for the U-21's. Such a tricky little player, brilliant to watch when he's got the ball.

I've heard really good things about Verlinden. Not sure about the Madrid boys, I think they may still be looking at other clubs.

Both signed and training. Have you heard anything about Yusuf Bayern?

I have a feeling that verlinden is gonna be special, the Belgians are producing some quality of late.

Both signed and training. Have you heard anything about Yusuf Bayern? No I haven't, there was a Vale fan on OVF a while ago (May time) saying he might sign for them and was saying he was a bit annoyed that he'd been offered a year's contract but if that was based on fact or a bit of fantasy I don't know. Is Waring still a Stoke player? It'd be nice to see a definitive list of who we have and haven't got for the both youth sides!

He's been at CW but don't know more than that. I heard a rumour yusuf might have done considerably better than Vale, and somewhat closer to home, but haven't seen anything to back it up!

I just don't get the hype at all tbh with him. Whenever I watch him he just does the same thing, gets the ball, holds on to it for too long and gets tackled.

The 20 members of the U-18's fly to Hungary tomorrow, it'll be interesting to see who's going, presuming we're told......
It's all gone eerily quiet.
