I'd rather have Taarabt than the untested Oliveira

Adel Taarabt plays for Adel Taarabt and only when Adel Taarabt wants.
Good player but will only be a good player for half a dozen games a season. Attitude stinks and could (possibly) have a negative effect on the dressing room.
Something that stood out like a sore thumb last season was the lose of some big key figures in the dressing room (Delap, Higginbotham, Diao and even Fuller) and we 'replaced' them with players that didn't have that authority/leadership ability (N'zonzi, Crouch, Shea). We need to be looking not only for players with talent but with character as well.

Sign him up, don't care if people say he's only good for parts of a game - we have no one with his creative ability in our squad and to get him on a relatively risk free loan is a no brainer for me

Overrated. Needs time on the ball to actually do something decent Whereas our current midfield rarely do anything decent EVEN when they are given time on the ball - at that rate, he sounds an improvement (in ability at least!)

Overrated. Never proved or achieved anything at Prem level.
Made a name in the championship and that's where it should stay.

He has the ability to do that

Agree there is better out there but are they available at a price we can afford? just think a loan for Tarabt is a risk free option

Tbh I'd be surprised if we are actually in for him anyway and its not just lazy paper talk.

Agree there is better out there but are they available at a price we can afford? just think a loan for Tarabt is a risk free option I'd have him here without any doubt. The one thing that was incredibly predictable was (and I place no importance on pre season results) the fact that we didn't have one shot in 90 minutes. Mark Hughes has made a favourable impression so far but as yet he hasn't been able to address the biggest issue in how our squad is put together - we simply aren't set up to be creative or score goals and are massively deficient in key areas. We need pace, skill and an eye for goal and whatever people think about Taraabt; he does have some qualities we miss terribly.

It sounds like we are going to the fall-back option here with Taarabt. Yes we need creativity but this guy has achieved jack shit in the Premier League, after tearing up the Championship.
This smells like Hughes panicing and pulling out the C list of targets after we have lost out on Oliveira and Diouf.
Very worrying, like the year we bought Soares and the other guy I cant remember his name now (he made such an impact)
