As many of you know I was a great fan of the muscular tracksuit husbandry served up by TP but even I can see Taarabt can play a bit. You felt yourself moving uncomfortably in your seat when he go the ball for the opposition so it would be a real thrill to see him in the red and white stripes. And we would have a new song, that "Taarabt's too good for you" one, somehow "Whitehead's too good for you" didn't work

Players like Taarabt will never work in the long term, in fact they are more trouble than they are worth, but if you can get them on a decent short contact they can be magic for a season. Would be nice to see if it worked!

Mumf he is not better than Hudson, not even potentially, not by a million miles.
Hudson might have had his issues off the pitch, but never on it.

Mumf
I love your posts and see them as the voice of reason and this boy may indeed be a good player but he is not even a poor mans Alan Hudson

Since when was Taarabt the yardstick by which muppets like Werrington measure skill,excitement,flamboyance.........open your eyes
Where you somehow see skill and flair,...... I see greedy, sulky, petulant and non-productive..........he "looks" good in the championship which is about where he belongs.

I agree he could do so much damage to our team ethic he's trouble and for the sake of one moment of "skill" against a season of petulance the answer is thanks but no thanks.

The new regime have confirmed the players remain a tight group despite the scaremongering from last season, we desperately need a player like him on the pitch, I'm not sure whether we need one like him off it.

I would take a punt on him - there is a top 4 player in there if we get him to knuckle down. He's still young so there is plenty of time for him to mature, and he's about the closest we will ever get to a Fuller replacement.

I checked his stats just for some perspective, last two seasons he has played in 27 of the 38 premier league games. He scored 5 goals and produced 4 assists last season, an improvement from the previous year of 2 goals and 3 assists. I think that it is unrealistic to sign a player based on his great form which was 3 seasons ago! And in a weaker league to boot. Qpr as a whole scored even less than Stoke and no one can say Taarabt didn't have a chance to change that.
Another interesting thing to note is his shooting accuracy, he had a whopping total of 98 shots last season (Walters was Stoke's biggest shooter with just 59 over 38 games) and 29 were on target. That's just under 30% on target with a 17% conversion rate, now this is obviously a rough guide not taking into account how clear cut the chance was etc but at best you can say its a major improvement on his previous season (35% on target with only a 6% conversion rate) and realistically he is just very wasteful.

I really can't stand him.

Oh yeah Harry, Walters does shit like this all the time ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) There's a world class player in there somewhere and I'd love to take the gamble and see if we can bring him out. He may finally mature when he's too old to play but it'd be fun to watch whatever happens. Football will always be about entertainment for me and he's box office at our level. Over a season ill take Walters , all,day long . Not saying we can't do better than super Jon , but not taarabt Walters?! Give me strength. He had a single good game last season and was non existent or awful in the others. Taarabt without a doubt would have some shockers, but he could do more with a single skill move than Jon Walters did last season. Walters is a Pulis player and I can't wait to see him join Deano on the way out. Taarabt is a footballer who has skill at playing football, Jon Walters runs around all game looking busy and missing easy chances.

Having only played around 20 odd games last season in a really, really poor QPR side, he still managed more assists and goals than all of our CM's and nearly more than crouch and walters also. I have not seen him play in most of his games so cannot comment on his work rate on the pitch, but to add quality in the last 3rd of the pitch on a loan deal can only be a winning situation for us surely.

I actually made a mistake on my previous post, Taarabt made 31 appearances all together last season. Charlie Adam - 27, Glenn Whelan - 32, Nzonzi - 35. In regards to assists his output isn't that much better:
| Goal | Assist | Taarabt | 5 | 5 | Adam | 3 | 6 | Whelan | 0 | 4 | Nzonzi | 1 | 1 |
Taking into consideration the shots total from Taarabt, Adam has less than half, he is just far too wasteful. Taking into account the rumoured attitude he has, I can't see his addition being anything but risky

He is extremely selfish and not at all a team player who scores a couple of wonder goals each year or two. Not really for us I think!

Ah fair enough then!, i actually forgot to look into shots and seems he must be rather wasteful then! I would not moan if we did take the risk on him though but time will tell.

Isn't the trying shots what gets the crowd going and creates the atmosphere?
Undoubted risk , like Pennant, but reminds me of Le Tissier capable of the unexpected.

I don't know if i can manage another year of Walters, Whelan, Shotton, Crouch, Jones, Kightly etc We don't have one single player in the whole squad with any flair or quality for anything other than running, chasing and jumping. If there is any squad that should be able to squeeze in a Taraabt it has to be ours.
