Oh yeah Harry, Walters does shit like this all the time ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) There's a world class player in there somewhere and I'd love to take the gamble and see if we can bring him out. He may finally mature when he's too old to play but it'd be fun to watch whatever happens. Football will always be about entertainment for me and he's box office at our level. Over a season ill take Walters , all,day long . Not saying we can't do better than super Jon , but not taarabt Nowt wrong with that opinion mate. It was the original, hideous comparison i had a problem with. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) If there are any 2 players you can't possibly compare it's Walters and Taraabt.

He had a single good game last season and was non existent or awful in the others. Taarabt without a doubt would have some shockers, but he could do more with a single skill move than Jon Walters did last season. Walters is a Pulis player and I can't wait to see him join Deano on the way out. Taarabt is a footballer who has skill at playing football, Jon Walters runs around all game looking busy and missing easy chances. If you read my post properly like I said we can improve on Walters but taarabt is just a bad apple we don't need in our dressing room . Walters gives 100% every game taarabt is a self opinionated prick

I'll be bored next season if we don't buy somebody like him. I don't know if i can manage another year of Walters, Whelan, Shotton, Crouch, Jones, Kightly etc We don't have one single player in the whole squad with any flair or quality for anything other than running, chasing and jumping. If there is any squad that should be able to squeeze in a Taraabt it has to be ours. We need a bit of quality but a show pony cunt who does something every 10 games isn't the way forward imo. If it'll piss you off that's another tick in the yes column for me ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Its always difficult to compare 2 players and their overall value to the team taarabt is undoubtedly a gifted individual , spurs didn't see fit to keep him managers have had problems with him , Neil warlock said he was unmanageable or words to that effect . As gifted as he may be he's not that effective over a season if he was that good QPR would need him next season

Walters....I'm struggling to find the right words or analogy to make any semblance of a comparison.
At the moment I've got time lapse photography in my mind for Walters runs...and an errant but very talented 'prospect' for Taarabt.
If Hughes could tame the beast by taking him on trial , then we could actually have a 'star' player on our hands...
FANBLOODYTASTIC.

I don't find players who piss around with the ball in good positions and cost my team more points than they earn entertaining but each to their own. I think we are that used to seeing players putting a shift in now that the home support will not tolerate anything less anymore because players will easily be branded lazy and frustrations will show in the crowd when a 50/50 ball isn't closed down etc. The thing we expect now is 100% effort with technical ability, if MH can achieve that we are in for a right treat. imo We have to be careful not to stray too far from our own DNA, the work ethic and physical side should stay, I don't buy this theory that you can't have a physical, technically good team with a work ethic, it's about buying the right players.

I couldn't give a rats ass about putting in a shift tbh, I hated Dean Whitehead and my main feeling towards Walters is contempt but with a tip of the cap to the efforts he does put in. You can afford to have a player who won't put the effort in imo, I just don't think Taraabt is worth it. I agree though, a good number of the crowd won't buy into it or passing football from the evidence I've seen. Totally agree with the last sentence too.

Resent is probably the better word, I resented he was playing, this turned into hate because I'd rather scratch my own eyeballs out than watch Dean Whitehead trying to play football. Contempt is probably a bit harsh for Walters actually. I aren't a fan of his though, the day he leaves or becomes the squad player he should be I will like the bloke, he has redeeming features unlike Whitehead. Mainly being a cheeky Scouse git and his ability to wind up opponents I particularly like.

Never really got these in-the-hole style players. Putting Tuncay to one side I didn't really get Arnar Gunnlaugsson either who I was constantly told by Mr G was the player who made the difference. I had all the problems listed for Taarabt with Gunnlaugsson except the ego. I'm not saying this position can't be played but I think Stoke fans are more tolerant of triers than they are with lazy flair players and I'm happy with that. In a transitional season the last bloody thing I want is to get relegated and lumbered with a list of players who don't have the stomach for the fight ... Would have liked to think Hughes would have a similar view?
Let's not compare Fuller to Taarabt, Rick didn't always scored a goal but he was still a fucking nightmare to defend against due to his combination of skill, strength and excellent use of squeezing his body between the ball and any opponent. If Taarabt is having an off day he's actually a burden to the team with his bizarre use of the ball and decision making.

I stand by my comment and think similar players in the past have struggled to fit in at Stoke and I'm talking pre Pulis. Remember the Stefan Thordarson vs James O'Connor incident?

Sadly for them the managerial messiah, Phil Brown is no longer the man enticing the targets.

MailAnother loan mention - but Redknapp wants a permanent move What's with all this loan nonsense? I can understand it, although not agree with it with no buy option, for a player from abroad whom the manager doesn't know and wants to try before he buys but he's already worked with Taarabt hasn't he? Either he (Hughes) wants him or he doesn't and it's obvious QPR want to sell. So what's the problem?

They've turned down 1.3 for Mackie as well. The last few days of this window really could be mental and justify for once SSN's coverage of it. There wont be enough doctors around to the do the medicals.
