Cheers Pal I’m sort of knocking the running on the head. Kills my legs and interferes with the bike I’ve had a decent journey over 7 years. From 105kg to around 85kg To be fair I do loads of cycling now. Saves my knees. May was a good month. Finished the 100 greatest cycling climbs, tour of the peak and the Fred Whitton. I hate hills and am not fast up them but you’ve got to keep chipping and just get them. Didn’t put a foot down on the climbs at all yesterday only stopping at top and bottom. Had a rest today but a mate is doing the 3 climbs so joining him at Bedoin to do his second and maybe his 3rd. June sees a 160 mile flat sportive York to Lincoln and back fast and flat only 3000ft followed the next week with Yorkshire Beast 200 miles and 15000ft

A very waterlogged 5 mile race in Stone this morning my feet were soaked through with a few hundred metres The rain kept off enough before, during and after enough to enjoy the company of our lovely local club runners and followed by a two hour brunch/ social in the town It's usually a well organised race but this year they've acquired a new race director who put in a flawless performance. Couldn't work out whether the happy smiling face was over confidence or abject nerves

Signed up to do The Yorkshire 3 Peaks in July. Started getting some hilly runs in for training. Hoping to raise a few quid for charity too. Any donations very much appreciated, no matter how small. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thomas-beech83

12 miles today with 10 miles at 7 mins pace.
Fitness seems to be coming back with V2OMax up to 53.
Might be tempted by a 50k next weekend

If I do a steady run, short or long, it goes down. If I do efforts, a race or a Parkrun it goes back up. It's geared to constant balls out running which is not good for performance.

Use this marathon training to push on with a few shorter ones now!

Pulled out of a 50k this morning after 5k, knee swollen and sore. I’m hoping it’s a tight quad pulling the patella and not something more sinister

I've mentioned on here that I'm running the London marathon in October.
As its 16 weeks out I've started a 16 week 3.30 training plan, this week. I'm only a week in and the legs are feeling heavy. Tomorrow is my first run of any distance (10m) and I can't say that I'm looking forward to it.

There can’t be many tougher courses in the country than Potters Arf? Very surprised and chuffed with 1:53:57 as I lost the 1:55:00 pace maker with about 4 miles to go.

I'll see you there, get a good physio sessoon booked in regularly I did a slow half marathon distance this morning to get some base miles in, bloody hay fever had me blowing and eyes running and sneezing, seems to be getting worse since I started with it these recent years.

Great support all round the course today, a credit to the city. Some bloke with his hose pipe on that last hill, God knows how much that’s costing him in these times. And people setting up their own water stations. Fair play to the lot of em 👍🏻

Ran 2:54 in an unofficial training marathon this morning, needed to get the monkey off by back!
Last 4 miles felt so tough, but managed to finish the job!

The Staffs Moorlands Summer Series kicked off last Thursday at Tittesworth. I took it reasonably sensibly until the last kilometre when I realised there was another runner in my age group in front of me so a fair battle ensued until I finally shook him off with a hundred metres to go. 4:19 for the last kilometre on gravel track and grass I think I'll try harder from the start this Thursday at the Roaches.

I never got up town yesterday but on the many photos I've seen the turnout at the finish didn't look too big compared to usual. Was that the case or not?

I never got up town yesterday but on the many photos I've seen the turnout at the finish didn't look too big compared to usual. Was that the case or not? Just before the winner came through it was looking sparse but within 10 minutes or so it had backed up to beyond the church/ Barclays.
