5:27 for London Marathon which Im more than happy about. Time? Nope....it's just I didnt set myself one & it made the whole run more enjoyable. I started fluctuating around 18 miles but just jog/walked the rest and soaked up what was a very loud & very encouraging support. I have done faster marathons yes, I may do faster in the future if I lose around a stone or so & reverse the signs of ageing BUT its that rediscovery of actually enjoying a long distance run that counts....Plus nearly reached my target for St John Ambulance which is the charity I ran for
Mar lady....her first & last marathon? 6:32 & thats made me even more proud as punch!

Does anyone know how fast any professional footballers run 5k, 10k, HM etc?
I've wondered since I took up running and saw Robert Huth ran the Wilmslow Half in 1hr39. Still keeping himself fit then.

Only downside to doing London...a stinker of a cold post run
Apparently runners are 6 times more likely to get colds/flu post marathon than non runners so is the immune system taking a kicking

It's done!!! Challenge complete. Won't be attempting anything like that again in a hurry. Massive relief to get it done. Most importantly, an amazing amount of money raised for close friends of mine going through the most unimaginable pain. That's what it was all for. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/aiMMia

Not this time, I was on a mission If you scroll down the replies, there is a picture of Scott Roots and his mate, I know Scott through work, he lives near Newbury, we had a run together in Amsterdam when both over there for work, he has got super fit since then and has done Ironman and knocked about 25 minutes off his marathon time.
