1:24 at Wrexham Half yesterday.
Not too bad considering the heat, but can do better.

Ran 1.26 at the Antrim Half today. In my mid 50’s and slightly disappointed I didn’t go below 1.26 but I’d a poor training block and was carrying a few injuries Might try San Seb marathon end of November Great time, nice one. I've always fancied that marathon as well, but working every weekend in November this time, one over on your side of the water. I may get to run the Derry parkrun on the Saturday as working about 100 yards from the start, a nice little tea break

Good luck with the park run 👍 I’d also put my name on the waiting list for Valencia and was number 1572, got offered a place and it’s on the week after Valencia. Decisions decisions 🤣

19 miles on Friday which included me doing under 3 hours for 18 miles for first time. Well chuffed Sadly work meant no Worcester Half/10k yesterday but eye opening was the 10k winning time of 29.40! A local lad, Matt Clowes from Cheddleton won the Wrexham Half in 66:25 yesterday. Rumour has it that he was discovered as a young boy tearing through the field at the Cheddleton Pudding race many years ago

Did anyone see that mentalist break the 24 hour running record the other day? He ran 192 miles in 24 hours - apparently the equivalent of running 23 minute 18 second parkruns non stop for 24 hours. It makes me feel a bit sick just thinking about it. Surely there must be some sort of physiological thing going on there?

Wilmslow running festival 10k this morning. It's my first road race in I can't even remember how long. Wish me luck. I suspect I'm in for a nasty surprise.

39:12 at Wilmslow today. Happy to have gone under 40 which I wasn't expecting as I struggled to a 19:50 parkrun a few weeks back. It shows the difference a proper race and being surrounded by runners of a similar level makes.
EDIT - also helps that it looks to have been about 100 metres short.

22 miles this morning, lots of long, slow hills - bit plodding even by my standards, but looking forward to the Potters Arf in a fortnight and the Yorkshire Marathon in 5 weeks.

Are you basing that off GPS or has it been officially released as short? It it's not official, then I wouldn't worry about it, they will have had the course measured and rubber stamped. GPS can be quite unreliable. What I'm saying is take the sub 40, congratulations!

I should be volunteering at Potters, so will give you a shout out! I'll be at Yorkshire too, hoping to finally crack my goal, but whatever will be will be.

Re. the Yorkshire Marathon, although I'll be nowhere near you in the actual race, I will be around and about the start fairly early as I have an early slot for the Park and Ride car parking, so say hello if you see me.

Sandstone trail A race yesterday, a bit of a toughie in places, took a wrong turn through a kissing gate onto a canal and locks, had to stop on narrow paths a couple of times, 1 a lady had gone flying head first and another someone similar, stopped to take a couple of photos of Beeston castle as I went past, and my time official time was 3:00:31, could have cracked 3 hours if I had known One of my friends who was further back (had been running in coed y brenin with her a couple of weeks or so ago) I found out at the end had gone down and ended up in A&E at Leighton hospital being stitched up on the head, luckily she was running near two female doctors who stopped and helped her, she had caught a big vein and it wouldn't stop bleeding. She'd done the hardest part of the route as well over Rawhead and had passed Beeston castle. Entries are open for next years event if you're not put off runcheshire.niftyentries.com/Sandstone-Trail-Races-2022

I think sometimes courses with a U turn can lose a bit and it was pretty cloudy with a few wiggly bits under tree cover. I'm sure you're right and it's fine - it hasn't been announced as officially short.

First time on a track in yonks, did a ladder session 400/800/1200/1600/1200/800/400 off 400 metres, was supposed to do it @ 6.00 pace but drifted towards 6.08.
Was hanging by the end 😳

Since my 20:45 5k PB in mid-August, I got a cold and ran 22:09, then 21:40, then 22:21. The cold's finally clearing up this week, and I ran 21:14.
So I'm still surprised my fitness doesn't seem to be bombing all that much despite only running once a week.
The knees are no better with the rest (still hurt most if I squat and seemingly more when sitting down), and they're on an NHS waiting list. It's really frustrating that since I took up running last year, I haven't been able to consistently commit, and I'm past my peak now I'm in my 40s!
I'm hoping to walk 150ish miles in Scotland next month (with 15kg on my back), so I'll see how that goes...

I’ve entered both 🤣 Probably do Valencia as I prefer the course and it should have more entrants. Weather is a big factor for me so if it looks warm/sunny in Valencia 10 days before I’ll consider San Seb as it’s on the week before

I did my local 10k over the weekend and, not being a dedicated runner, was pleased and very surprised to come in quite handily placed in my age category, until I looked into the overall standings and realised I was beaten by about three minutes by the bloke who won the 70+ category... bit of perspective
