Nice 10 miler at lunch time today, felt warm out there with the sun coming through, and great views from the top of Whitley, down over Cheshire towards Frodsham Hill

Got to do a virtual fastest mile event this month. First attempt 6:53 I will do better You'll piss that. Sub 6.30? I'm not normally one for these challenges but I heard about this 4 x 4 x 48 challenge the other day. Basically 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. I like my sleep too much If like to go sub 40 Not got time for 4 x 4 x 48

Actually you now have got me thinking about it. 4x4x24 seems a good aim.
Might try 4x4 one day next week

I ran 8.02km (just under 5 miles) yesterday at 4:54/km (7:53), my second longest distance, so assuming I don't injure myself again I'll be good for my first 10k this month. The hills have killed my bad ankle a bit, so I'll be resting today and sticking to flatter ground tomorrow. Despite feeling knackered after 3km, I still enjoyed it and managed 4:11 pace for the final km, with Strava tracking me at 3:20 before I stopped!
I've also been prescribed some tablets for my coughing/wheezing, and if they don't work, I'll be tested for asthma, although the doctor said asthma is unlikely to occur in late 30s/early 40s.

Google Andy Murray ankle brace. Brilliant for holding up your ankle running

Bang on 33 minutes for 5 miles this morning well happy with that after three weeks of relative inactivity and no real speed work for months. 10.5 miles in total with the warm up and warm down

Muscles warmed up and ready to race. Similar process after racing, slow warm down and plenty of stretching followed by a good soak in the bath to aid the muscle tears with a bit of decent music blasting in the background, jobs a good un

I've been told that dynamic stretching is better but I don't feel comfortable and feel like I'm one dynamic stretch away from cramp. I've always stretched since I started back running 10 years ago although I've still acquired the odd injury. I reckon the problem you and I have is running too fast too often

I’m too bone idle to stretch. Warm down and warm up properly
The most I ever do is sometimes use the activation bands with a few exercises before setting off

Just have to tick over and be ready to push on.

Just back from 2.06km at 4:22 (3.32 miles at 7:01). My arms are still smarting from the bitter wind - maybe I should've worn long sleeves.

My energy levels seem a lot better after a couple of weeks of Covid struggle so on the comeback trail tonight. Going to stick to 5km until for a week or so and if all goes well push it back up to 10km slowly over the coming weeks......

Well knock me over with a feather, you're only the 2nd guy I know whose got in. I would have deferred London if I had. Can't remember if it's 8 or 9 years on the trot I've been rejected now. What's the third after London and Manchester ?

Can anybody give any insight into Hoka One One running shoes? I've always used variants of Nike's pegasus as the fit suits me.
I'm intrigued by the apparently oversized cushioning though and fancy trying something different.
I picked up a new pair of Pegasus last summer and they're not far off shot.
