After 15 years of trying in countless parkruns and other runs - I finally got under the 25minute barrier for a 5K* and here is the evidence... Please tell me this counts... If you had actually run 5k 😂😂 I think that was the point the paramedics stepped in

Always run through the line! Even the 100m runners do.

Hell yeh! It's official... 5K in 24.34. First time in 15 years I've got below that time.
According to Strava:
2 miles - 15.18 1 mile - 7.04 1k - 4.19 1/2 mile - 3.27
Very happy with that. Looking forward to a slow and steady 8 miles tomorrow.

It's fine when its like that, it's just shit when it's compressed and turns to ice, part thaws and then freezes again, like an ice rink trying to run around here

Third consecutive run under 25 minutes for 5K today and that was with some of the pavements being particularly slippy - 24.42 I feel like I've found a nice balance by alternating between a longer 8 mile run and the 5K - did 8 miles in 1 hour 11 on Saturday average 5:31km

Not exactly hills... there’s a couple of uphill sections but admittedly it’s a pretty flat course.

I feel I'm getting back into my comfort zone again, but something still doesn't feel quite right with my lung capacity, my left calf is still a bit tweaky and ascent/descent still hurts my right ankle. My last 3 days (a rest tomorrow - I'd prefer to go out but don't want to overdo things): 3.44km at 04:26/km 82ft 6.64km at 04:53/km 125ft (on snow and ice in hail) 6.86km at 04:54/km 240ft Hopefully, I'll finally get to run my first 10k in February.

I changed to kilometres because I prefer the more granular breakdown of pace in runs, though I do have a spreadsheet that converts km to miles (I'm sad like that). So 2.1 miles at 7:08 for the first and 4+ miles at around 7:50 for the other two.

My old mum has just messaged me to say she had heard (on radio Stoke?) something about the Potteries Half Marathon perhaps being run in September this year. I can't find anything on the internet - any of you lot know anything?

Easy 2miler today. 101 miles for January ran every day.
Didn’t aim to do as much but the more you do the more you slip in 5km, 10km and longer.
I found that The earlier you do it in the day the easier it was to combine with the bike. A great start to most days
I’ve also done 1360 miles on my bike (mainly indoor)this month

My last 3 runs, with all sorts of metrics for oldies and youngies alike : 3.47ml @ 07:43 / 5.58km @ 04:48 - 34m elevation 3.99ml @ 08:10 / 6.42km @ 05:05 - 91m 3.16ml @ 07:17 / 5.09km @ 04:32 - 34m Today's run = hooray! Finally getting close to pre-calf injury and pre-seemingly-something-up-with-my-lung-capacity-pace!

Sunday....2:15 half marathon along a hilly/icy run of Worcester Today...30 min 5k with sister in law, and got abuse of some cock with his dog after not apparently "thanking" him for moving out of the way Swearing at sister in law isn't wise, swearing at me is even worse. Overall a 67 mile month for January with 2 half marathon distances done.

I took a week off last week and got back with a 5 miler on Monday in readiness for the Alsager 5 virtual this weekend. 35:37 at 4:25 pace per kilometre. I started off at 4:40s and gradually brought the pace down with a 4:07 and 4:04 for the last two kilometres. I've changed over to kilometres this last 12 months because I find it easier to monitor race pace.
Looks like the weather might be a problem again at the weekend.

Got to do a virtual fastest mile event this month. First attempt 6:53 I will do better You'll piss that. Sub 6.30? I'm not normally one for these challenges but I heard about this 4 x 4 x 48 challenge the other day. Basically 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. I like my sleep too much
