Northy......Im in! Which means theoretically 3 marathons in 4 weeks! Well knock me over with a feather, you're only the 2nd guy I know whose got in. I would have deferred London if I had. Can't remember if it's 8 or 9 years on the trot I've been rejected now. What's the third after London and Manchester ? Its actually 3 in 3 weeks! Berlin end of Sept, week after London, week after than Manchester. I would be very surprised indeed if all 3 go ahead though.

Can anybody give any insight into Hoka One One running shoes? I've always used variants of Nike's pegasus as the fit suits me. I'm intrigued by the apparently oversized cushioning though and fancy trying something different. I picked up a new pair of Pegasus last summer and they're not far off shot. I've got a couple of friend who swear by them. I've had a couple of pairs over the years but not had any for the last 4 years. They have an unusual sole and you roll into the next stride. I used to use them to alternate between shoes and the usual Asics Gel Nimbus. I've not got anything negative to say about them I suspect you need to try some on to get an opinion.

6.4K in 25:46 at 4:01 pace per kilometre this afternoon helping to pace a friend for a 5 mile race. She absolutely nailed it with a low 32 My main job was to slow her down over the first quarter so with a 3:58 and a 4:01 I managed it. Had to ask her to slow down on the 3rd K as well which worked because she had a negative split on the last mile.

The frozen mud was painful on my ankles where it was uneven, but today was my best run since November. I felt very comfortable until the final 2km when I started pushing a bit more. Very enjoyable. 7.54km at 4:40 / 4.69 miles at 7:30 / 49m elevation

Yesterday: 8.13 km at 4:48 and 123m elevation / 5.05 miles at 7:43 and 404ft. I found the uphill bits tougher than I expected, thinking I'd taken this route before. But when I checked at home, I realised I hadn't and this was the most elevation I've encountered in a run.
Today: 5km in 22m17s. The bitter headwind for the last 1.5 km was tough and my legs are burning, so I hope I didn't push too hard.

Freezing today. Took the lad out for an easy 10km but ended up doing nearly 8 miles at around 10min mile pace. Nice and easy without trying to kill myself or him

My left foot has started going numb after about 4 or 5 miles.
Assume its something to do with form/technique.
Any ideas.

11 miles in 1:31 this morning well wrapped up after a couple of days of a head cold earlier in the week. I never wear more than shorts, a thermal and a technical top but dug out a hat, snood and leggings and two pairs of gloves for the first time ever..... it did the trick

13.1 miles in 1:59 - first time ever under 2 hours. Never thought I'd get near this. Tied in with the recent 24:24 for the 5K I think I might retire!

A sub 25 5km today. Got some good consistency at the moment in my training maintaining just under 8 minute miles and can go a little faster when I need to do. That’s about my peak at the moment.

My legs felt really weak today for some reason, but I managed 6.02km at 4:38 (3.74ml at 7:27) without pushing too hard, with 57ft elevation that was mostly a hill near the end on my way to the shops to get Trex for pancakes. I ended up running home (not recorded) carrying a bag of shopping due to the first shop not having any fat and a minimum card spend at the next shop (who also conned me for an extra £1, maybe taking advantage of my steamed up glasses).
I've also had some knee pain with both legs in the past week. I wonder if that's down to running on frozen ground instead of the usual mostly softer stuff.

I’ve got to do a mile sprint for this months virtual army athletics. I don’t have to but I got roped into it.
6:37 (down from 6:44) last week.
Not submitting it yet. I reckon I can go under 6:30
