Looking at the distances and times everyone is posting on here I feel a bit lame for saying I did 4km in about 23 mins the other night. It was raining and a lot easier to run in that the humid nights we've had recently.
I'm happy with that though - lost a stone this year and about 5lb's in the last month. Getting fitter!

The time is irrelevant mate The only thing that matters is getting out through the door and having a go I just run with what I feel comfortable with without getting really knackered I always feel better after a run than before and that to me is the most important thing

Not the best race in Amsterdam, finished in 3.57, was hoping for better, but can't grumble too much considering, at least in the top half of the race and for somebody over 50 aint bad,. Woke up on race day with what seemed like a hangover, dry, sore throat, headache etc. The wife passed her stinking cold onto me ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/4tzqvp1fxEemag_TAXLJ.gif) My tight hamstring restricted running much under 9 minute pace as well, had it checked out yesterday and it is strained so complete rest for a few weeks. Legs were unusually stiff, think it was running on a lot of block paving, it was also about 18'c and sunny with a strong wind into the faces when running down the river out of the city. Had a good night Sunday, a few beers went down ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) Next race - tatton park 10k tule yomp in December, always a few ladies dressed as sexy santa's in that one ???? Helsby half marathon in January

Went for an hour in the gym very early this morning, went on one of those new 'free runners' once I got use to it, it was great, no pressure on the injured ankle at all.

I'm doing Tatton Yule Yomp too Northwich - love that run, always wet and cold - sideways rain last 2 years!
Also, signed up for Race to the Stones in July, 100k trail over 2 days, my training to include Newcastle Way Marathon in April and Liverpool Rock n Roll marathon in May (again).
Anyone ever done Loch Ness Marathon? Quite fancy that in September.

Tatton is always brutal weather, about 4 years ago it was freezing, similar to now, the sweat on peoples hair froze.
some people in our club have done loch ness the last couple of years, they really enjoyed it. Its on my list to do.
