Us "real" Stoke fans are being "sensible" about this and seeing what the bloke does first. What a load of two faced bollocks. TP greatest manager since wad go and you hardly had a good word say about jim. What fcuking bollocks. I think you may have missed the intended irony through your tears mate. You'll learn to love again. First cut is the deepest. You can live if living is without him.

don't rate him as a manager, hate him as a person, however he is now Stoke manager and I wish him all the success, just a quick thought though, what sort of honeymoon period do you think he will get, because I for one will be pretty unhappy if we are playing fantastic football but in the bottom 3 in December.
I hope I am wrong and he does what he did at Blackburn - up the potters!!

To be fair mate, Mark had his own personal issues with TP that I for one fully understand and respect. No doubt he has but never once to my mind was anything TP did on the field ever good enough and let's face it he did plenty but go then preach that bollocks stinks of hypocrisy.. Load of bollocks. Do you not recognise the proper supporters and sensible supporters tag lines then oh sharp one?

Fair enough, not really who I would have wanted but I'll support him 100%, anyone unhappy with it, and I mean the morons going way over the top about him, such as the bloke in the truck, should just fuck off somewhere else.

Apart from the whole 'consistently achieved higher league finishes than Pulis ever did' thing. He took over a Man City side who spent millions. He took over a good Fulham side who had finished 7th the season before. He took over an established Blackburn side who had finished 15th the season before he took over but 6th the one before that. It's not really surprising he consistently finished in higher league positions considering which clubs he took over. The one tenure yu could consider as like for like was qpr. It's an absolutely diabolical appointment on so many levels. Yes there are a number of fans who would be happy with anyone with Pulis but we will see how long that lasts. And even a large number of that crowd are gutted with Hughes. He was already in charge of Man City before the takeover and while he wasted some money he also made some very astute signings who would prove pivotal to their title win. I'm sick to death of this bollocks about him 'inheriting' sides, how often does a poor manager go to a successful side and totally ruin them? It happens all the time. To not give Hughes credit for the things he did at Blackburn is massively unfair given the team that finished 6th and 7th and reached three semi finals was one he built - his cheap as chips back four, his bargain strikers scoring 20 goals in consecutive season, his signings like Bellamy and Bentley who pushed them on. There's a lot not to like about the bloke but to discount any success he's achieved while trumpeting his failure smacks of a massive agenda.

This thread is like a final showdown between the ultra wankstains and the ultra rimmers...
It's a competition to see who can show the greatest amount of hypocrisy and double-standard gobtwattery this board has ever seen.
Neck a neck at the moment...

Just crazy...Did Coates not look at his past before giving the muppet a job! Probably, did well at Blackburn and Fulham (for a short time), and wasn't doing to badly at Man City before getting shot of (was doing better than Mancini did in the end). Like I said, not my choice but I can see why Coates has gone for him.

Onwards and upwards, its his money. Get behind him, its our club. Yep, as supporters of stoke city it's the only thing we can do really. I can't understand the Coates family reasoning behind it but, it's their club, money and at the end of the day.....their choice. We'll be with you ....

The length of the "honeymoon" period is going to depend massively on the transfer action that we see between now and August, and the fixture list!

Not my first choice but prob the best manager we could of appointed with the lack of footballers Pulis has left. On the whole I'm chuffed with the appointment.
I will no doubt disagree with a few decissions Hughes makes but thats football.
Welcome aboard and good luck Sparky.

Can we please stop calling him by his nickname, I hate the fucker with a passion (always have) and referring to him as that is making life unbearable.
If he is our new manager, and I have to put up with him, can we get a new one?
How about spunky

Massively underwhelmed after hoping so much for the oft quoted 'vibrant, young manager'
I can see the logic but was desperate for a 'heart over head' change of direction and to see some real change.
I don't like the bloke and feel that he has few redeeming qualities as an individual. If he delivers the goods then fair enough but I can't see past this all ending in tears.
