Well done Coleman, you just talked yourself out of a superb central defender.

Why don't they just appoint Ramsey as player / coach and let him run the whole show ? Absolute nonsense !

Some opinions from Swansea fans. Seems they agree with us, Colemans made himself look a bit of a tit.
I don't see why it should be up to Ramsey whether he gets approached. Shawcross has apologised many times and Ramsey seems to be acting like a little kid about it.
Surely it should be about what's best for Wales?
It would definatly be well worth calling up Rangel and Ben Turner as well which would give us a defence of Williams, Shawcross, Rangel and Taylor with nice depth from the likes of Ben Turner and Joel Lynch which would be fantastic.
First c**k up from Coleman.
If he thinks Shawcross is worth a place in the squad, then he should call him up. It shouldn't be decided by a player for God's sake.
Weak management from Coleman. So, if in future, 2 established Welsh internationals are involved in a club game and one breaks the others leg, Coleman's going to check with the injured player, if its OK to keep picking the perpetrator
Coleman's also being inconsistent on another connected issue - he says he's not fallen out with the Welsh Olympians because Wales (as a small nation) can ill afford to discipline and lose players over such a matter. If he (as manager) thinks Shawcross is good enough to represent Wales, he should pick him (again because we can ill afford to turn away players) and Ramsey should be man enough and professional enough to accept that

Yeah, I know. So basically what Coleman's said is. 'I've got no problem picking Ryan and he's good enough to play for us. However, it's Ramsey who's going to decide....'. So he's put all the pressure on Ramsey now If Ramsey says 'no', then he'll get slaughtered by the media for putting his personal vendetta ahead of his country. As will Coleman for not taking the decision himself. to be fair Foster you've missed some important points in that article; in the article it actually does state that Coleman is not necessarily asking for Ramsey's "Acceptance" (presumably he means that he would consult Ramsey to see if it was even possible they could play together rather than be bezzie mates) and it isn't a case of being weak willed as a manager at all. if Coleman talks to Ramsey and says "I appreciate you won't be buddies but is it possible for you to even play on the same team as him" and Ramsey says no then it would be daft for a manager to pick a player who he knows will cause upset and disruption in the rest of the squad and he would always understandably take Ramsey's side on that as he is Captain and (although i hate saying this) quite simply one of the best players they have. in short, it's not being weak willed at all, it's actually him doing his job! if he completely ignored it and just put Ryan in the side regardless then THAT would be being a weak willed manager who doesn't have the sense to even address the issue. as i said, the simple fact of him sounding out Ramsey is exactly what he should do given that Ramsey has been very public about the fact the refuses to accept Ryan's apology so the whole issue has been created by Ramsey rather than Coleman. it is daft though to have talked about publically, i do agree with that Mick, at the end of the day, Coleman is making this Ramseys decision. Taking a decision on Ryan himself and then telling Ramsey in private that he's going to become part of the team is one thing. Waiting to make the decision based on Ramseys feedback, is another. Your arguments are valid, but if you have two great players then you don't sacrifice one of them just because they don't get along. Colemans job as manager is to pick the best players available and get them playing together. Without letting personal grudges get in the way. So in summary, I thought my previous post was spot on.

Coleman has put Ramsey in a difficult situation. If he says yes then its virtually the same as accepting an apology, which won't go down well with Arsenal fans who dont like him much anyway. If he says no then the boos he got last season will be nothing compared to the shit hes going to get next month.

The boys kidding himself if he thinks he'll ever get more than a couple of caps for England. Simply not good enough unfortunately Ryan.

Do you think most Welsh people rate Ryan enough to want him in the team?

The boys kidding himself if he thinks he'll ever get more than a couple of caps for England. Simply not good enough unfortunately Ryan. thats probably true, he only got into the England squad before because there were a lot of injuries. But even if he is only a fringe player hes still got a chance to going to a major tournament, he could win 80 caps for Wales alongside Danny Collins, lose most of the games and never get anywhere. Also depends how patriotic he is, does going to school just over the Wales border make him feel Welsh?

The boys kidding himself if he thinks he'll ever get more than a couple of caps for England. Simply not good enough unfortunately Ryan. That's a fair enough comment. Personally I'd rather a couple of England caps than a career of playing for Wales. Ryan other than his schooling is an Englishman and as such I don't blame him for chasing his dream of playing for England.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hodgson gives him a cap fairly soon, ensure he can be picked for England whenever needed.

I wonder if Ramsey and Bendtner have played together at all since 'the incident' ?? Just, with it being Bendtner's fault, that's all. If he hadn't have held Ryan, he would have gotten to the ball first.

couple of points
1: 1st home game is v Arsenal
cant wait!
2: from a very simplistic point of view if it was a case of picking Ramsey or Ryan then imho it's a no brainer talented but mostly inefectual midfielder or top draw & highly consistent Centre Back?
if I was welsh I would be fuming

Wasn't the ref not even going to give Ryan a yellow card for that until all the arse players got on his back.
The ref didn't think itv was a bad tackle.

I think he's correct to talk to Ramsey about including Ryan however that should be as far as it goes. Ramsey should have no influence on the decision.
Anyway, it's good to see Ryan willing to fight for his England place.

Ramsey needs to take a look at this if he feels he was victim of a 'horror' tackle. Man the fuck up you Caerphilly cheese prick!

Good on Ryan. I don't think he'll ever be an England regular - but it seems he won't lower his standard and play for Wales either.
Fuck off Coleman, fuck off Ramsey.

To be fair, if Ryan Shawcross had raped and killed my mother I wouldn't want to play in the same team as him. That is what happened, isn't it?
Not sure who Ramsey thinks he is or why others seem to think he's so special, but it's a load of shit. What next? Ramsey isn't sure whether he likes Gareth Bale's new hair so he needs to be consulted over whether they should include him in the squad.

I think this is another chance for Ramsey to acknowlege publicly it was an accident , its gone on far too long . At least he would get a good reception in August , a rare event for someone Arsenal connected !!
