Are taxis expensive ? Well were staying in Riga on wednesday night - and we've paid £23 for a room there.
Anything up to £50 (640 UAH) I guess?!

Volvic for example i d recommend: close to the centre & not far from the ground: Hotel Rus - www.hotelrus.kiev.ua - Room for 1 person = 650 UAH = 60 euro. Hotel Lybid - www.hotellybid.com.ua - Room for 1 = 870 UAH = 80 euro. far from centre & far from groound, but it s VERY nice & VERY comfortable (I had my wedding there:) ! Hotel Diarso - www.diarso.ua - Room for 1 = 1040 UAH = 95 euro. i think you don t need sthg more expensive like Hyatt? or you do?

Just booked into Hotel Ukraine. 6 of us in 3 twin rooms through booking.com at £85 per room per night bed and breakfast. You reserve with your credit card but you pay in local currency when you get there. Looks like the hotel is right in the middle of the city on one of the big squares very close to bars anrd restaurants but also walking distance of the ground. Perhaps you can confirm den?

the flat can be cheaper - if you are not alone you can get a really nice flat for 3 or 4 persons in the centre for about 60-70 euro!
taxi is cheap unless from airport. from airport it may be minimum 150 UAH (12-13 euro). in the city the highest price is 100 UAH (from one city-end to another). i recommend you to CALL taxi, NOT to catch!! for foreigners the prices can double or triple! ask somebody to call taxi by phone (lots of services)! normal average price for average distance = 50 UAH! min. price = 30 UAH.

so, rob, andy - how about "Sushiya" as a place to meet for a beer and than to decide what to do? I'm not a big fan of eating fish, but yes why not. I had a look at the website and it looks to have a range of foods, not just fish.

Im currently looking at the 'President Kievskiy Hotel' in Kyiv city centre........ super cheap rooms there! As we're all going to be arriving on similar flights etc, would it be worth getting together in little groups to arrange taxis. Or alternatively as suggested above the mini bus option from the airport looks to be good, cheap and convenient and drops us by the central train station. Handy for the city.

ok! yea - they have not only fish i really like "Chervona Kalina" - but it s not in the centre. Sushiya is very close to the ground, to Khreschatik Str., to other bars & restaurants - so it s just very convinient like a place to meet. & it s also not far from your hotel.

about taxi
i said before that taxi from airport is expensive even if you call for it. i agree about the "Політ"-bus option. but it can deliver you to the train-station.
you know, the match is not soon. i d like to help you with this taxi-problem. maybe even better way if you all could gather in a group & we try to find a minibus from here to deliver each of you to his hotel?
but you should first tell me how many of you gonna arrive. i think it could be more cheap & convinient.
but if you decide - it should be done closer to game!

Привіт!!! SO GREAT to see Ukrainian language here! You know, we - Dynamo supporters are BIG patriots of our country! It s very important for us! From the soviet period the stadium has been the place to show our pro-Ukrainian, anti-soviet position!

i don t think we can bring many that far. probably, about 100 from Kyiv plus Ukrainians who live in England are always ready to support Dynamo. the main reasons - money and visa (money is more important!).

my last away was this March at Lviv - great city in Western Ukraine! if you have opportunity - visit it!!! Dudes, I absolutely couldn't agree with this advice more. Its such a beautiful city and is my winter getaway. I stay at the George Hotel in Lviv, oldest one in the city and right in the heart of it. The streets are all cobbled streets (which makes the city excursion on an old little train VERY interesting!), and has a pedestrian area right through the middle. Nice little fountain too outside the Opera House. Plenty of shops. And also has a famous chocolate factory there where they have perspex walls through to the factory bit at the back where you can see them making the goodies. Can also pick up some fresh coffee beans there too. I'd suggest to anybody to take arrange an extended weekend, fly to Zhulyany from Luton by Wizzair, maybe think about staying first night in Kiev, then take an evning train to Lviv which only takes about 6 hours, arriving in Lviv at 11ish pm. 50UAN for taxi to hotel. The rather amazing thing about it, which you wouldnt realise when you're there, is that its about the size of Manchester, yet one of the most relaxing cities you could visit. Oh, another bit of advice for Kiev. Dont expect when you're crossing the roads, that just because the green man is showing, and you're on something that resembles a zebra crossing...that you have the right of way! Vehicles aren't stopped from turning in to the junction, so just keep a very cautious eye on this.

Den, Im all booked up for the trip - But we havent booked our hotel in Kyiv just yet. Were staying Thursday as we fly back from Kyiv Borispol airport, we dont want to hire a car (i cant be arsed to drive ;D ) so any decent hotels near to the airport / inbetween your stadium and the airport? How much is it to catch a Taxi as well? Volvic - If you're booked up for the city centre, just head outside the terminal and catch the 'Polit' bus which sticks itself right outside the arrivals terminal. 25 UAN per person, rather than 25 euro for a taxi. Its a 30 minute shuttle bus to and from airport, always from the airport to the main railway station

Do Kiev produce programmes (not to be confused with the Soviet pogroms) for their Europa League matches?

2 Stokiejoe money, money... i am sure it s a bigger problem in Ukraine than in England. Normal salary for Kyiv is 400 euro/month! Is it ok? NO!
2 Katie Yea! Lviv is Lviv! I ve been there so many times & still love to visit this city! My wife is from Minsk, Belarus & now we live in Kyiv and she loves Lviv too! Now we go to the Dynamo away together:)
Programmes - sure! Do you collect them?
P.S. Very important - listen to Katie: be careful on our roads!!

Very important - listen to Katie: be careful on our roads!! i have a friend from ukraine and he says the money is pretty bad there.... anyway... enough about money, what results would you be happy with against us. for me, at your stadium we could get a draw if we are lucky but we are likely to lose because we are so poor away from home. however, at home i would be looking to beat you as at home we are so strong. we have beaten arsenal 3-1, tottenham2-1, aston villa 3-2 and newcastle 4-0 there. we have also drawn with chelsea there for 2 seasons running now. but a draw would not be a huge loss because i think we are good enough to beat the other 2 at home and at least draw with one and beat the other away

Yes I collect programmes so it's 100% certain that Kiev produce for every match they play?
Hajduk Split didn't produce anything for their match with Stoke - I did manage to get an unnofficialpirate programme though.

sure, we want 2 wins, but we realize that you are strong especially at home! and it s not because i think Stoke is weak, no!!! it s just our mentality - we used to win & we always demand victory from our team. but, believe me, we don t know the real power of Stoke! i wish it were good games & i really wish our 2 sides come to the play-offs!
