Do you need a Visa to go to Ukraine? No, uk citizens can stay up to 90 days per 180 without visa. Be sure though to take all info and electronic receipts of any hotel bookings. Customs will often ask for such details

Guys, can you tell me how you gonna get to Kyiv & so how can we get to Stoke? Are your flights from London or Liverpool? And how much it costs to get from these cities to Stoke? Thanx! Hi Den There didn't seem to be a direct flight to Manchester, which is the nearest Airport, so I'm going from London Heathrow. You can get a train from Heathrow Airport into London (20 minutes) and then a train up to Stoke on trent, it is about 1 hour 30 minutes from London to Stoke. There is a flight into London Luton airport, but again to get to Stoke you would need to get a train into London then catch a connection to Stoke. I'm not aware of a flight to Liverpool unless you know better. Can you tell me, for the game in Kyiv, I'm staying in the old town area - Velyka Zhytomyrska Street to be exact. Is the ground easy to get to from there?

I'm really looking forward to visiting your city, and the old town seems really fascinating, which is why I chose to stay there. I am hoping to have time to look around on the Friday before leaving for home.

1) Priviet, Den! Kak dyela? Izvineetye, have not worked out how to use keyboard po-Russkii/Ukrainskyie. I saw your team play Dinamo Moskva in 1981 in Kiev, and recall Dinamo Kiev won, sorry I do not remember the score. I lived in the then Soviet Union for four months. I hope to meet you in Kiev or here in Stoke, where I hope you will be very welcome.
2) I am delighted to learn that there are so many Russian speakers in Stoke...I thought I was the only one!!!! How about we all get together for a beer?!!

Privit, Cliffer! Trip to Kyiv - nice for language practice, too! In 1981 (and the 80-s) - there was a great team in Kyiv!

You know, here in Kyiv we still remember the end of 90-s when Dynamo was among the top-clubs. Barcelona (we won 3-0 in Kyiv and than won again 4-0 in Barca), Real (1-1 in Madrid and 2-0 victory in Kyiv), Bayern, Arsenal... Champs. League quarterfinal, than semifinal... And than about 10 years of average football. People are little tiried of such things. We want our Dynamo back in top. But I agree, we play in Europe every season - so we have a good practice. Stoke for us is sthg exotic, but we know English football & it s GREAT to meet you on the football-field. Hi mate, welcome to the message board.I never thought I`d see Stoke and exotic in the same sentance ;D ;D ;D

flights to Kiev/Kyiv have gone up massively already.

Sorting out these trips is a real pain in the arse even though they are great when you get there.
Hoping sportoptions come up with something for this one!

den, heathrow and luton airports are well serviced by railway but would advice to book train tickets in advance as can be very expensive on the day. Have a look at www.nationalrail.co.uk for prices, times and maps Also if your planning to come for a few days and want to do some sightseeing, you can buy a pass called the britrail england pass which gives you unlimited rail travel all over england. prices start at $145 for 3 days. see www.raileurope.com/rail-tickets-passes/britrail-england-pass/index.html note 2nd class is our normal class and our trains are very very good.

thanx a lot, overthehills! i think most of our trains are bit slower than yours and less comfortable. but if you are going to visit Ukraine for some sightseeing - I can tell you that railway is just what you need!

denfcdk if you had a day before the game where would you go to tourist wise? We would rather not leave to far from Kyiv. Assume we will be drinking in the evening
