Martin Parker (I don't know him) was seriously injured recently by what appears to be an unprovoked attack on him, his family and his friends attending the recent Newcastle game. Terrible that any supporter is harmed in any way whilst watching football and especially by what appears to be "home" supporters.
May I make a suggestion that the club invites Martin and his son on the superb Newcastle match package that the club's website has announced, as special guests of the club. Nice gesture to show that the true fans of Stoke City are all on the same side.
Fellow posters, please keep this post towards the top of the board.
Thanks Eye.

Totally agree with this, the scumbags that did it need routing out BUT he should have just approached the stewards surely? Would be a great gesture by the club!

Indeed I totally agree. A lifelong supporters big day marred by a bunch of mindless idiots. Mr Scholes I implore you to give this man a night to remember.
We do not need mindless hooligans at Stoke City.

yes totally agreed . Also ban the thugs for life and sack the stewards who didn't intervene. also stewards need retraining to help prevent a similar situation occuring in the future.

Great idea, and while we're at it what about finding the yobs responsible and taking them to St James as well, but stick them in the geordie end in full burbery and making an announcment telling the locals just who they are and what they did, then they can have a taste of what they give out! scum Get better soon Martin and hope to hear your back at the Brit.

The scum want banning for life, how can you do that to one of your own, i just don't understand why the STUPID LITTLE STEWARDS didn't step in, they want sacking who ever they were as well, they could of even, got the police and showed them to the culprits.

Great idea, well done.
If we can't get the club to arrange it for free for him, I'd be happy to contribute to send him to the game airbourne with the players.
How about some of you lot too? An Oatcake offering to a fellow Stokie?
Smudge - have you got a paypal account or something we could donate to?
Knowingeye - one way or other I think it is a great idea from you and I hope somehow we get Mr Parker to the game.

Great Idea.
Come on Tony, don't miss the chance of some seriously good PR, and also make a statement saying that these lowlife scumbags will be tracked down, prosecuted & banned for life.

You can count me in for a paypal donation if it gets set up. I'm still in shock to be honest that our own fans have done such a thing to their own. Sad times for the city. This way Martin may get some faith back in humanity
