Grealish rarely starts. Mr positive doesn’t trust him 🤷♂️ Grealish has been the regular first choice since the last Euros He's played Saka or Foden on the right with Grealish starting most games on the left If you don't watch England fine but don't make arguments based on inaccuracies Unless you were referring to Grealish club manager(?) in which case you are correct, he rarely starts Pickford Walker, Macguire, stones, trippier/any fit left back Rice, Henderson, Bellingham Saka, Kane, Foden Has been his preferred starting 11 for an eternity. If Grealish starts for Southgate, Foden misses out is the norm.

I must have missed when they were regulars 🤷♂️ Guehi has been starting over Maguire (quite rightly) Shaw is clearly the first choice left back and has been since before the last Euros TAA OK, maybe the other midfield spot in between Rice and Bellingham is the most fluid selection in the first 11 I said SHAW, Kane and Saka were only noticeable absentees originally. Guehi has started whilst stones has been injured not in place of Macguire hasn’t he?

It’s a rare quality to be able to put that quality of player into a team and fashion it into one that can barely muster a meaningful attempt at goal in 90 minutes, irrespective of the fact they were playing Brazil. Roy Hodgson squeezed all the life out of enjoying England Dave England had 13 yes THIRTEEN players who were unavailable for selection or a bench option There were players out there last night who won’t even travel to Germany Kane, Saka and shaw the only noticeable absentees from his likely starting 11 weren’t they?

For some reason, Southgate has seemed to squeeze all the enjoyment out of watching England 😞 Anybody who doesn’t enjoy watching this England side doesn’t like football Wether he gets his tactics right or wrong is questionable but this squad plays front foot football which is enjoyable It’s a rare quality to be able to put that quality of player into a team and fashion it into one that can barely muster a meaningful attempt at goal in 90 minutes, irrespective of the fact they were playing Brazil.

Dan Crowley, midfielder for Notts County, looks a player. Not to mention Langstaff, who just scores goals. We should have signed Langstaff. Won’t be long before a competitor snaps him up and he returns 25 goals. There’s a real stigma attached to lower league goal scorers. Is he Chris Greenacre or Mark Stein?

Shows how hard it is for a young lad to even go and play men’s north west counties football.
Even as an 18 year old the step into men’s football at that level is a big one

A lot of those no's and "not guaranteed" aren't certain though. I can easily see Hoever coming back, and I read somewhere that foreign players take half a year to get used to a new club on average. I think some of you are harsh on Leris, who was ok (compared to the squad) under AN, and Vidigal could also get better. And if we go down, they'll be key players! I do think there's a good chance Leris is here next season, he's a decent option in certain situations. Given our predicament it’s probably too late to risk the experiment now but Leris best game for me was his debut away at Millwall. He played a large chunk of that at right back. Everything I’ve seen of him has me believing the only position he’d excel in is full back. I’d have played him at right back long before now and think he’d probably be a better option than any of the 3 that have been used there this season.

I wouldn't like to guess how many players in the 18 will be here next season, even assuming we stay up. Iversen- no Rose - maybe McNally - no Wilmot - not guaranteed Hoever - no Laurent - not guaranteed Pearson - not guaranteed Baker - not guaranteed Gooch -yes Bae - hopefully Campbell - no Bonham - probably Thompson - no, as it stands Manhoef - yes Ennis - yes Mmaee - probably not Cundle - no Vidigal - no Haks - no Leris - probably not Wesley - no Johnson - no Stevens - no Burger - hopefully The “yes” list is very depressing 😢

Granted I only watched on a stream but genuinely, I don’t see a lack of effort and I didn’t see it yesterday either. They were simply miles better than us on the day and the way we set up had us all over the shop. We are just crap. No amount of effort makes up for how shit they are. Gooch being a perfect example. Lad gives absolutely everything. He’s wank! Maybe you’re right but certainly those commentating on the match were highlighting the body language / lack of fight. To be fair it’s probably a bit of both. I always think the Cup highlights how you can still win even if you’re massively lacking in quality in comparison to the opposition. What I would say though is that regardless of who you’re playing you’d expect more than we gave yesterday. You might get away with it in an isolated cup game where you drag the opposition down to your level but week in week out, bad players will be found out and that is, sadly, very much the case with us. Burger and Junho aside, we simply aren’t very good.

Today was a huge wake up call. It was always going to be tough but it was the lack of passion that was so tough to take. I really don’t think that 3 CBs is the answer as on todays performance we aren’t more solid for it. With everyone fit I’d like us to go 4231 Iverson Hoever/Junior Rose McNally Stevens Pearson Burger Million Baker Bae Mmaee Granted I only watched on a stream but genuinely, I don’t see a lack of effort and I didn’t see it yesterday either. It’s not an excuse and I’m not particularly defending him but centre halves play in pairs. He hasn’t played with anyone decent other than Souttar when he looked half decent as a young centre half. Maybe he’s so bad that he’d make a decent centre half look worse than they are. Who knows. I was merely hoping he’d be better alongside a competent partner. They do and a good defender should be able to play with whoever. If he needs a good defender by him that tells me he’s a shit defender. Remind me again how bad Shawcross looked when playing alongside Ashley Williams and Cuco Martina. When you have to do multiple jobs to make up for the incompetence of those around you, you tend to look bad yourself. We agree that he’s pretty crap. I was merely hoping he’d be better as he undoubtedly arrived with potential to mature into a decent player. He’s struggling badly since injury and has struggled really since the departure of Souttar.

I’ve always been fairly ambivalent towards him. He’s had some decent games and he’s had some absolute horrors. A decent partner and I always felt he could be decent enough. Post injury, he’s a million miles off the pace and is worse than he’s ever been. A defender who needs a decent partner to play well is a shit defender. It’s a terrible excuse. There were plenty who didn’t like Wilmot pre injury. I wasn’t one of them. Post injury, he’s absolutely miles off it. He’s the exact same. He’s never been able to defend or pass. His English is pretty good. He must have had some kind of base from school. Surprised he lives "in an apartment, 10 minutes from the training ground (wonder where that is?) Assumed he'd base himself maybe in Manchester. I wondered if we'd go the extra mile and set him up with a Korean family for the first few months or something Jermaine pennant lived in those apartments on the a34 roundabout in Newcastle…..the ones by Morrisons That would make sense if 10 minutes away Wonder if he has to live there because he doesn't drive? EDIT - scrap that. I've now watched the interview and he said it's a 10 minute drive to the training ground! That'll teach me!

How old are you out of interest? Perhaps helps explain why you don’t get it Why does age matter? How old are you? I think you’re old, like some old guy in the corner of the bar rolling his own cigarettes with yellow fingers. Have family that are vale fans, actually nice people! Would a local derby actually not bring some excitement to the city or Huddersfield away is exciting enough? One of my best mates is a Vale fan. Makes no difference. Why any Stoke fan would want a return of the local derby is beyond me. Its a no win situation for us. We win, we are expected to win. We lose, we never hear the end of it. We even have to play them in a league game, and we are once again at our lowest ebb. And age is an important factor I'm 47 (never smoked though). Before 1989, my dad would watch the Vale and Crewe, despite being a Stoke fan so obviously I'd go along with him. Crewe would often play their games on a Friday night so as to get a bigger crowd with attending Stoke fans. All that changed. When we were at our absolute worst, they were at their best which meant that we played plenty of games against them. Phrases such as "pride of the potteries" and "10 years of continual success" were invented and all of a sudden, there was a rivalry where previously there had never been one. If you aren't old enough to have lived through that period of time, and all that went with it, it might explain you apparent desire to want all local clubs to do well. Whilst I wouldn't wish them out of business, the lower down the pyramid they are the absolute better for me and many others who lived through that period in the late 80's/early 90's.

Norwich are in good form. Todays win means a draw won’t be the end of the world. They haven’t won away since early December and like most teams in this god forsaken league, they are rubbish. Danny Baath started for them at the weekend for crying out loud.

It’s 2 in 4 actually without wishing to be particularly pedantic. For context, even Lee Gregory scored goals in league 1 232 minutes to be precise David👍Coming on as sub in his 1st game and being substituted in his last 3.The locals are more than happy with his contribution so far I’m very pleased for him and them…it means we no longer have to watch the useless twat 👍
