While on the subject of players winding up the opposition, without starting a new thread I want to say how much I hate the contrived goal celebrations of some players when they have scored. A lot of the staged antics actually mean little to most fans even though few are original, and many arent even funny. There was one premier league match on Sat, I forget which, when the scorer had to wrestle the ball back off an opposing defender in the goalmouth just so he could stuff it up his shirt and do some pretend baby type celebration. As if the baby routines havent each been done at least a dozen times before, including the thumb sucking. And yet these guys think they are being clever or original. Of the others a few at one time were original when they were done, such as Jurgen Klinsmans headlong dive, and Wayne Rooney re-enacting his knockout from home with Phil Bardsley. The one I particularly hate, as mentioned earlier in the thread, is Daniel Sturridges stupid dance routine. It was Lucas in the Liverpool v Spurs game. Alison had to take it off him in the end.

OK, I'll bite. I've had dickheads shouting much more offensive crap than "butterfingers" in my face before (starting at a much younger age than 25) and I've never thrown a punch at anyone in my life, nor do I intend to. If he reacted in self-defence and the other guy lashed out first, fair enough. From what I have read he took the 'bantz' in good nature, it was later on when someone had a pop at his fiancee it kicked off. He has every right to go out and enjoy himself like anyone else, regardless of his salary. If dickheads think its funny to wind people up they run the risk of getting smacked, the rest is down to the laws of the land and he should be treated no differently to anyone else. Of course he does, I'm certainly not someone who thinks people who earn more should have to put up with abuse. What happened with his fiance, I haven't read about that? I hope she wasn't badly hurt.

If he reacted in self-defence and the other guy lashed out first, fair enough. I imagine he gets it everywhere, every time he goes out, regardless of who he's with - It would get to the nicest person in the world (which I'm not saying he is). If you poke a dog enough times, it's going to bite. The guys provoking him are arseholes. No doubt they're arseholes, and I'm sure they were trying to provoke this very reaction. But I honestly don't think it excuses him starting a physical fight (if he did start it). He's not some teenager with no life experience, he's a grown adult.

Easy and have done it. Only 25??!! Lads join the army at 16 and learn discipline, how old do you have to be to be able to have a level of tolerance & not get drawn into stupid needless situations? As a player in this day and age earning the money they do, surely it's easy to avoid getting caught up in stupid situations like this & learn abit of self control and discipline.. All very easy to write sat behind your keyboard without dickheads shouting in your face, isn't it? OK, I'll bite. I think the people surrounding him and goading him are even bigger twats. I can understand Pickford not wanting to sit back and take the abuse. As a professional footballer of the status he's found himself in this last year or so Pickford should simply not have put himself in a situation where he can easily become embroiled in such an incident he clearly can't control himself in. Put yourself on a pedestal be prepared to get shot down.. Goading is part and parcel of the game especially if a pro footballer gets seen out, either deal with it better or choose your night out locations better. This. Lots of people are subject to abuse because of the job they do, I know I have been. The vast majority don't respond with physical violence, or even verbal threats. Try acting like a grown man Jordan, instead of a giant, gurning baby and these things might stop happening.

Mr top pro has just shared how he refused to play in a reserve game after a fall out with Hughes. Mr top pro then revealed how he got pfa involved to challenge the clubs cheek in having the temerity to fine him a weeks wages. With self proclaimed top pro's like him who needs the charlatans. I did wonder after seeing TS and JC's reaction at the fans forum. He's even worse than the rest in my opinion. A knob AND a hypocrite, wonderful. We really have had some thoroughly unlikeable characters at our club of late.

fuck Qatar. As an aside, if you could have a World Cup anywhere outside of the normal countries hosting, where would you have it? My top 3 would be 1. Chile 2. India 3. Japan Japan co-hosted it not long ago. Chile had the one before England. India- I'm not convinced they have the infastructure yet but maybe one for the future? Australia (with a few games in NZ?) would be the obvious choice. They're used to hosting big events, they have the stadia and at least there'd be no issues with getting a beer! Perhaps Canada as a leftfield choice? It's only a matter of time before China gets one. Canada will co-host in 2026. Would love it if Australia and NZ got one too!

I was thinking of Vucinic, only one Damjanovic, incidentally the best football celebration going... Did that after scoring in cuppys when I was in sixth form in homage, three mothers came through the park with prams at the exact same time, i received some very dirty looks indeed. A very shameful day. There are rules about players not being allowed to take their shirts off. But is there a rule for their shorts? Didn't Ireland get in trouble for that? I vaguely remember Superman pants but it could have been some kind of weird fever dream. I know Bendtner did similar and got fined but he had advertising on his pants so that was a bit different.

Our current kit design is one of the best two or three we’ve had in fifteen or twenty years. Agreed Maybe the quality of material isn't? Quality has been very good in my experience. I honestly don't understand the stick Macron gets on here. I've really liked the majority of the designs and, in my opinion, they've all been better than the lazy, indentikit crap Adidas churned out for us. As Prestwich said, I think a lot of it is brand snobbery.

What an idiot - just a few feet away from the ref who’s just blown the bloody whistle. Missing 82 minutes plus three whole games for pure idiocy. With any luck it will be more than three!

Clucas has been one annoying twat for one reason or another this season. I agree. I cant do with the bloke. There's just something oddly unlikeable about him. I can't warm to him one bit.

I’ll be renewing, because as bad as it has been in the past two years, nothing beats my journey in from Nottingham, getting to my seat, meeting my mates from back home (only time I really do these days) and just the optimism of having 90 minutes to play out in front of me. Now it has been mostly shite for the last 3 years, but nothing beats that feeling. I go regularly to my second love, Ice Hockey in the form of the Nottingham Panthers and as invested as I am in it, nothing beats the feeling of Stoke scoring or winning. It’s the only place I get said feeling and likely ever will. Random question but how's Brett Perlini getting on? I never saw him play, but his brother Brendan played for my local junior team over here and was pretty good.

Bit more of a game now then? I couldn't get my stream working for this one but watched us against the US the other day. I wish the Beeb would let us ex pats watch without a proxy 😩 Understandably Japan have dropped off a bit now. May have been interesting if they could have got an early goal, second half, but they didn't. 72 minutes gone! Chuffed to bits to see we kept the sheet and won the competition. To think I was dubious about Neville when he was appointed, how wrong I was!
