He just looked offside, I’m just saying without VAR it’s possible the move doesn’t even develop for the reasons dirtygary’s just stated above ......and THAT is the reason that VAR shouldn't exist. The flag goes up and the mental doesn't happen. The outpouring of emotions is curtailed and you don't stop being a football fan at a game for five minutes. I can certainly sympathise with that view, I just think the genie's out of the bottle now. VAR ain’t gonna be scrapped so we have to learn to live with it (and hopefully improve it)

He looked well offside in real time because he was ahead of the two players nearest him. I actually think the liner may have flagged in the absence of VAR anyway But obviously you were aware of Wan-Bissaka being level with him? He just looked offside, I’m just saying without VAR it’s possible the move doesn’t even develop for the reasons dirtygary’s just stated above

If it’s not a clear offside by eye then the onfield decision should stick, scrap the line drawing. But then there’s the argument of what is clear? Just a slippery slope and there is no true answer Literally NO person in the country thought that goal was not a goal. Only after a pathetic, pedantic scientific review with dodgy lines was it disallowed. Any non-VAR match that is a goal, every single time. The only way that goal could have been disallowed was by VAR because it was a massively imperceptible offside that wasn’t really offside! He looked well offside in real time because he was ahead of the two players nearest him. I actually think the liner may have flagged in the absence of VAR anyway

Man Utd gk should be banned from the final That would give them an advantage though

How does VAR disproportionately benefit an attacking team?

How on earth do you adjust your tactics for VAR Villa play a very high line knowing VAR can bail them out. Or screw them over 🤷🏼♂️ one is no more likely than the other

How is it fair to have VAR in the cups. Man Utd have it in all matches and can adjust their tactics for it, whereas Cov can’t. Gutted for Cov. How on earth do you adjust your tactics for VAR

Never a pen he was moving his arm away from the ball. I am no shit fan but that is so wrong. He actually wasn’t. He went into the block with his arms pretty much completely outstretched. As these things go nowadays it was as blatant a case of “making his body unnaturally bigger” as you’ll see. Clear pen.

If Wednesday had lost we looked safe but it looks far from over now. All the teams below us have been pulling off results - at the moment the magical 50 points doesn't look enough. It will be I think, can't see all of Wednesday, Birmingham, Plymouth and Blackburn getting to 50 points+, and even then it would come down to goal difference most likely. Another point would make absolutely certain but I still think we're about 90-95% to stay up. Way more than that. The odds put it at about 99.7%. Seriously did people not envisage this scenario yesterday? We’re fine, even with today's result

still another place to fill Yea but the original thing was about us finishing above Huddersfield (even if they win both their games), so that other spot would be Huddersfield. Like I say it’s a bit of a daft scenario because Udds are the one team we don’t have to worry about

Because there’s 2 slots left to fill…. If Hudds win both games, brum will finish below us? You’re right, I hadn’t factored that in. Thing is that particular circumstance is a bit of a red herring because it’s the least likely of all.. it’s more about Birmingham getting the points, not Udds

Blackburn have Coventry at home and Leicester away Birmingham have Huddersfield away and Norwich at home Huddersfield play Birmingham then Ipswich away Plymouth away at Millwall then Hull at home QPR v Leeds next Friday then away at Coventry Wednesday have Albion at home then away at Sunderland I don't think we will finish above all those sides but I think that's more likely than going down I think both are unlikely Huddersfield are done but they might take Blues with them Wednesday to stay up Be surprised if Plymouth, QPR or Stoke go but less surprised if Blackburn go However even if Blackburn lose both games think they have enough points already Too many assume teams below us will win their games . look at Hudders yesterday People are looking at the worst case scenario, which is understandable, that’s what “mathematical” means. Realistically though there’s zero chance of all five teams overhauling us in two games

I know, as I said above it’s celebration time 🥳 There is NOTHING to celebrate about this abhorrent season. Well I just enjoyed a few relaxed beers and a curry in celebration of a very good performance and not having to play the Vale next year. So sorry to prove you wrong 😉 you feel free to not celebrate as you see fit.

We could finish above them and still go down though The point being made is that both Birmingham and Huddersfield cannot get 6 points from the last 2 games. If Birmingham beat Huddersfield their max is 52 but Huddersfield max is 47. The other way around its 49 v 50.Wednesday can make 53 but horrendous goal difference if they falter and dont win all 3. We aren't going down. I know, as I said above it’s celebration time 🥳

That was really weird, the ball clearly hit Grealish’s arm and went behind, VAR reviewed it and not only didn’t give a pen but the ref gave a goal kick rather than a corner 🧐

With Huddersfield playing Birmingham especially If we lose our last to games and don't score a goal, and Huddersfield win their last two game, they will have to score twelve more goals to better our goal difference to go above us. I'd say we're safe. We could finish above them and still go down though

My memory is not what it used to be, but a team that just missed the top 6 a couple of seasons in a row was 3 points up with a +10 GD going into the final round quite a few years back. They lost by 6, and seventh won by 5 and they missed out either by a GD of 1 or goals scored (Cardiff comes to mind, but I just can't remember). I'll say we are safe when it is mathematical. Forest wasn’t it? Lost by four on the last day and somebody won by six or seven or something?

Let’s not forget we have Bristol C last game who have zero to play for we should get at least a point from that. I think we might get something at Saints. We’ll be relaxed and playing with freedom and they’ll be very deflated after today. They play Lester midweek too I think
